Its great they only announced the fireworks locally to avoid overcrowding, but Zushi is so different now. I'm glad for its prosperity, but the city has sold out to the wealthy who bought out properties and businesses and the once calm residential town has become a tourist attraction. Residents often pay the price for the mass littering (plastics, used fireworks, single use bbqs, utensils, condoms, you name it, and leave trash into residential property when they leave the town), and other bad conduct by visitors in the summer season, and as a result have so many rules and signs in place to prevent them… which shouldn't have been in the first place. They've even banned tattoos on the beach a public land, which is ridiculous. Sometimes it feels like my home town in the summer transforms into a narcissist paradise these days. The city council and business owners are thriving, but kinda feel sorry for the old residents that have to put up with the inconveniences.
