I’m on a little roadtrip in Croatia with Eelco and visit abandoned military relics throughout the country.
On the last day we visit Zeljava air base, which was the largest underground airport of Europe. It’s located right on the border of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This place became operational in 1968 and got destroyed by the Serbian military in 1991-1992.
Since then it’s a dangerous abandoned place since there are still mines and unexploded ammunition scattered around. This place is also a smuggling route and a illegal way into the EU for illegal immigrants so there’s a lot of police patrol. We also visit a “submarine” tunnel called “Hitler’s eyes’.

Let's goooooooooooooooooo
This episode was for two reasons very very cool. First, An amazing place to show us around. Second, very nice to see you both finally making a VLOG together again. Like the old days. 👊🏻😊
This is actually Dr Evil's Lair, it was renamed as a military airport to cover it up!
In Kaserne und Bunker war ich 2018 😎👍
Grüße Wolfram
Nice
Finally this episode, I have personally been there and the atmosphere is unique, thank you guys for this content!!
This reminds me of visiting the Ostwall tunnel system located in Poland. It's a deep underground system built by Nazi Germany in 1934-44 as a fortified defence network. Some of the bits have tours but there's so much sectioned off parts, some collapsed, some flooded. I reckon you would love it.
Amazing exploration ♥️
You guys are the best in the business.
Good video, keep going
6:55 Yeah, very untouched 😀
Amazing Video!Congratulation from Hungary!
All those rebar prongs sticking out from the ceiling look lethal! Have to be super careful wandering around that place in the dark. Great video, Bob!
I was here a few weeks ago and will drop my own video soon. But I really liked the blueprint of the bunker that you included. Well done! Videos don't do the place justice as to how massive it is.
With a bit of effort, that base could be rebuilt no problem. There's barely any damage.
The CIA and MI6 would have liked those technical drawings ,they would have payed good money for minox [tiny camera] film of them
Why is the dude always walking in front of you when he is not recording anthing, just in a hurry to be in front of
everybody. Spoils your video mate.
Do you guys get checked every so often for things like asbestosis? I really fear for your health with the amount of decaying asbestos and other old building materials that you guys walk through etc. I know you've been doing it for a bit, but I'd hate for you to catch something from your passion 🙂
An old C-47/ DC-3. I wonder why it's there.
This was build with American dollars in cold war to help Yugoslavia from Russian attacks. Yugoslavian people became secret alias to US in cold war. Zeljava airbase is on border of my homeland Bosnia and next Croatia. The airport is now mainly in Croatia near by Bosnian city Bihac.
It's nothing to do with 'planting trees for the environment', and definitely not just a bit of fun. This is serious business, changing the cats name is one thing but changing your own name and employing a fake fiefdom 'title' on your passport and cards makes an idiot look somewhat stupid..don't do it !
That place used to be filled with old migs….did they finally get around to scrapping them?
Awesome guys you should camp out inside there to explore every part
Once again, thank you for sharing it with us!
Please stop the Soviet remarks, Yugoslavia during most of its existence had nothing to do with USSR and its satellites.
I don’t know what it is but I’m fascinated with underground places, this was a amazing explore Thank you for taking us along 😀
Great video but your sponsors are scammers, the titles are not legal in any shape or form and are little more than a sneaky way to relieve the gullible of their money
Wauw Bob wat een enorme bunker! Mooi avontuur weer en wederom mooie herinneringen gemaakt samen met Eelco 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Always very curious and fun to watch your videos. Thank you!
All i can say is thank you for showing me places i could never afford to visit. Goodluck and keep safe.
It's amazing what governments will build for the sake of extreme paranoia.
I'm not sure about the rest of the world but I know that some of the more obvious countries have opted out of single reinforced bunker complexes.
With today's weapons, most bunker systems are pretty useless. The only way to survive is to decentralize. Keep your defences mobile.
Malo si ušao u mračne tunele
I’ve been to that bunker in 2019. I went in there alone and it was a crazy experience. What still haunts me today is that I didn’t find the ladder to the upper areas of the bunker where they had an observation point which was connected by a lift to the base. I have seen videos where people recorded this lift shaft but didn’t try to climb up.
Maybe it is better that I didn’t find it, eventually I’d have tried it and who knows in what condition the rusty bars in the shaft are. But still I’m thinking what I would find going up there… I’m sure almost no one went up there after the base was left. Maybe one day I’ll go back there.
Remember to keep in mind the asbestos and other not so good substances in these interesting places!
There are many abandoned places like this throughout ex Yugoslavia. From atomic shelters to ex JNA army weapons and munitions storage places. Unless you talk to the locals who know where they are it's hard to find them . Especially in Bosnia and Hercegovina.
Bunch of things like this where built with concrete and covered with grass and vegetation.
As a kid during the war our school was inside atomic shelter with big 3' thick steel doors.
Zeljava was funded by the World Bank who also funded the West. Nice business.
This channel is on a whole other level… you guys are awesome, both because of the incredible locations and because of the lack of "scary" BS. Just the raw exploration as it should be!
So very interesting to watch. Thank You! And thank you for the quiet, pleasing music during the vlog. Something that Americans can't seem to accomplish. I usually hate and don't give a thumbs up to loud, blow your hair back music at the beginning of a vlog. Looking forward to your next one.
What does you need in your underground bunker? Halls, toilets, blast doors, airport, hangars?
Yes
Lovely couple….😂🤣…
Cool!!!
Anyone know what plane it is?
That hotel looks so nice, pity it is left.
Billions of dollars. Wasted
