青森ねぶた祭り
Aomori city hosts the Aomori Nebuta, a Japanese fire festival that takes place every year between August 2 and 7. It features over twenty Nebutas, or enormous lantern floats, many of which are inspired by kabuki or mythical tales.
Though its true origins are uncertain, it is believed that the Aomori Nebuta Event evolved from the Tanabata festival.
The Aomori Nebuta, one of the three largest matsuri(festival) in Tohoku, attracts over 3 million tourists annually and is definitely worth seeing if you’re traveling to Japan in the summer.
