  1. That's how I exactly feel bro. I believe too. More real Asian should strive to get into those media platforms. Spoken like a real Asian. AMEN!👊🏼

  2. Both liberal and conservative sides of the US do not give a fuck about Asian lives, open your eyes people. Stop voting for these parties and go third it’s the only way at this point.

  3. As a black woman, I do not condone violence and disrespect at all.
Sadly, when crimes are committed it feels like the whole race is under suspicion regardless of your personal beliefs, class etc. On the other hand, I completely understand that you're just trying to be safe and you really don't think of it on a case by case basis so generalizations will happen. I just want people to understand that many blacks are frightened and affected by crime too. Not just being afraid of becoming a victim but also by how the actions of others shame and stereotype the community as a whole. I will make a video about this on my channel. Thank you for the discussion and I continue to pray for us all.♥️

  4. The cover art is hilarious, like jez theres so much happening in the photo im suprised they didnt draw ninja stars and nunchucks too

  5. Statistically, rich asians are richer than rich white folks. But that doesn't mean a majority of Asians are well off. That article was such a fumble. She repped like 5% of Asians and tried to speak for everyone. I think Fung Bros, China Mac, MBNel, DJ Qbert etc are moreso the average asians in America. In NYC, Chinese are the most impoverished group. Caribbeans are actually the most well adapted immigrant group (in NYC). So for NYMag to post this was so bizarre. As far as the nation, 80% of asians are poor and the most dependent on welfare. I hate to see the media try to push this minority myth like its truer than it is.
I remember listening to hip hop songs (like Nas. shouts to u if u know which song) that broke down robbing immigrants and how they're easy targets.
Asians aren't confused. They were one of the first ppl in this country. Working the plantations. Splitting the dangerous work with the African slaves. making the first street gang and mafia groups before the mob. The mafia even left the Tongs alone bc they didn't wanna go to war. shedding blood in minority rights movements. It's these new asians that are Uncle Tongs that are feeling confused now. and the media is confusing the youth by putting Asians in the white category on issues. foh
Those from the hood know and it's all love and unity from those within the battlefield.

  6. My mom still lives in South Central LA. I really don't put too much credence into Asian women point of view. I was just a regular Filipino/American guy who grew up in LA and didn't really relate to the Filipina women's experience. They always seem to have a liberal agenda.

  7. 👏🏼 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 thank you so much for speaking the god damn TRUTH!!

  8. Esther Wang interviewed a few of our members and literally saw Black and Latino/a/x members in our club with her own eyes as well as our training footage but wrote the article pretending that didn't exist (and omitted interviews of women from the article) and selectively including quotes to make it seem we are insular when we are inclusive to all ethnic groups.

  9. All I can say if you were on board with all the racial awakening stuff, whether you're "asian" or not, then you're getting what you asked for with reborn asian prejudice. Having grown through times where there was clear prejudice to where it was just about gone and having lived on the coasts and in the mid-west, these are your chickens coming home to roost. If anyone wants to look at things on nearly pure racial lines, here your prize. BTW want less prejudice? go exactly where you wouldn't think, the mid-west.

  10. When White people arm themselves, it's self-defense. When POC do it, it's racism and terrorism. Or gangsta activity

  11. Told you that the WOKE are NOT OUR FRIENDS.

    2nd Amendment === Asian safety.

  12. Seems most articles I have read feel disconnected because they're written by Asian women in wmaf relationships and pretending to be the voice of the asian community. You cannot have a white partner and then claim to truly understand the full breadth of the Asian experience in America. Let's be real, between asian men and asian women, asian women tend to be coddled and get a pass in white america more often. Asian women tend to become more white-adjacent in their upbringing. Asian men get the worst of everything race-related. Would love to hear an Asian/Asian-american man's perspective on Asian hate in America.

  13. It's important to remember that Esther Wang has an editor who was likely white. It is entirely possible that she wrote an article that was much more in tune with how our community feels but that article made her editor uncomfortable and made her rewrite it so that they and the magazine's liberal white readership wouldn't feel that twinge of guilt.
Consider that in the broadcast news media the crimes/attacks that got the most airtime were instances where the perpetrator was black or racially ambiguous yet, the statistics collected clearly showed that the group responsible for the most anti-asian crimes were white people.
Across the board, from racist ass Fox News to MSNBC who fancies themselves progressive, a choice was made to downplay the responsibility of white Americans.
MLK warned that white liberal can be much more dangerous to civil rights of minorities than the overtly racist whites on the extreme right.

  14. The attackers just trying to teach back what the Asian people taught them that their parents taught them.. I've been to 25 countries in Asia

  15. It's generally very hard to break into elite journalism unless you went to certain schools or you have connections or your parents were journalists before. Also journalism has undergone a lot of change and consolidation, jobs are precarious and not usually well-paying. It's v. hard to find a working class journalist across the board. It's bad for society, even worse for Asian Americans. That's been the story for my Asian relative who is now a free-lance writer in the Bay Area.

  16. who cares about the things you want to hear, you are just a tool

  17. Thanks for the article. I hadn't seen it and it is interesting to read all the comments.
I was raised in NYC Chinatown amid the Asian immigrant life. Having lived in different communities in my life but still keeping some connection to the NYC Asian culture, my article would definitely have a different viewpoint. This article is just re-hashed news. What was the purpose of it? Why did nymag want such an article?

  18. There are facts building up this type of defensive attitude. It may make some ppl uncomfortable but it’s totally make sense

  19. But you guys never talk about Chinese racism against other Asians which has a history of at least 3000 years.

  20. hi brothers, u guys needn't worry at all. please increase your friendship with Indian American community. We should jointly create an Asian century
