The Sagano Scenic Railway follows part of the original line that leads from Kyoto city to further reaches of the prefecture (and the San’in side) of Japan. The line follows the Hozo river through the mountains.
Today, the JR line runs on the double electrified track that was built in the 80’a and this portion of the original line was preserved for it’s use we see today.
This nice little railway is a great thing to do if you find yourself in Kyoto. Located in the city’s northwest by the bamboo forest, it’s convenient and a great way to get out of the summer’s unforgiving heat for a bit!

It is one of the trains that I have read the most, the environment looks very beautiful! I didn't know there was another JR station near the end. Many greetings Andrew!
