JAPAN IS OPEN and it’s our first time here! We can’t believe we’re entering Japan on their first day of reopening – and for real this time. No guided tour, no travel agency requirements. Just good ol’ independent travel, the way it used to be. Except different.
We’ll share how our entry went into Osaka on Japan’s first day of reopening, along with our early first impressions of Osaka. I think some Takoyaki is in our future…and temples! In this video, we visit a Shinto Temple (Namba Yasaka Jinja) and a Buddhist one (Hozenji Temple). The Buddhist temple has an interesting background!
Don’t forget to comment below to possibly receive a Japanese postcard from Japan! We’ll choose someone in about a week and notify you in comments.

Welcome to Osaka. Have fun! Maybe next year I wanna go oversea and mask off.
Cool,i'm happy youtube really recommend this video. Looking forward for new video
Since losing my partner to cancer in 2017..I have been watching the Japanese Ch here in the UK. Also watching many many Japanese related videos on Youtube..(particularly the POV walking videos)…And have become extremely interested in the culture and landscape of Japan….I have also become a HUGE fan of a Japanese female rock band…I entered a ticket lottery to win a ticket to see them LIVE in Tokyo in Jan…..But didn't expect to win….But I did!….I have never been anywhere alone….My late partner took care of all the required planning when it came to going aboard, which we only did twice before she passed away…She was very good at dealing with such things like paper work and booking what was needed. Me on the other hand am useless…having never been anywhere till we came together. Now to see the the band I have come to adore..I have to sort a trip to Japan…But have no idea where to start!..I so want to see them and visit a country I feel is calling me….But totally lack any skill to take on such an undertaking……I really need it for a pick me up…Any advice and tips would be most welcome. Thank you.
Congrats on finally stepping out of
inmigrationthe mist into Shangri-La. (@5:23… someone planning a little hiking?)Thank you for coming to Japan for us!

Kansai region was our first leg during our trip to Japan in 2019 and we are excited to visit again this December!
I'm heading there on 6th November . Like you I've been booking and cancelling for over two years . But so excited and can't wait to see your vlogs .Have a wonderful time .
This looks absolutely beautiful, Currently waiting to board my plane to Japan hahah
マスクをしないで欲しい。大多数の「マスク着用圧力に勝てない日本人」と一部の「他人にマスクを強要したい日本人」の目を覚まさせるためにも。いい加減、日本人である我々もマスク着用にうんざりしています。
Visiting Japan is right on the top of my bucket list. Thanks for sharing your experience. Can't wait to watch the next videos. Have a great trip!
Funny this popped up in my recommended list. I just got to Osaka this morning, flew into Fukuoka from Busan yesterday and took the overnight bus to Osaka. Going to spend 3 months wandering around, chasing good food and great images. Hope you guys have a good time here.
There are various degrees of bowing & whilst it wouldn't be expected of foreigners, it is a sign of respect. If attempting it i would try to match the level they are bowing to you. If it were someone of a higher status , company executive, doctor etc you would notice that the person bowing would bow lower.
Most people go to Tokyo, right?
Around Shibuya Station, Shibuya Sky, Shinjuku, Odaiba, Harajuku, Ginza, Roppongi, Akasaka Palace
Theme park lovers also have Halloween, so Tokyo Disneyland, Disney Sea, Universal Studios Japan, Huis Ten Bosch, etc.
I loved Japan and the japonese people.
Have fun…Ana from Portugal.👋
Welcome to Japan. I hope all foreigners will be rewarded in Japan. Please enjoy Japan. Thank you

Welcome to Japan. Glad you've enjoyed it.
I moved to Osaka several years ago and I feel like I'm now taking everything for granted, but your joy from this visit helped me remember my first time I came Japan.
日本に観光にはいいけど
外国人が日本に働く、住むはかなりきつい
Welcome to Japan. Have a nice trip!

I'll be there in a few weeks – save you the postage aha
Hi , cool video but one question to go to Japan entrance … we need only to be fully vaccine and MYSOS application but u re talking about healt declaration i thought only for E visa that , can u explain to Us .
That airplane mascot is so cute!
Karen
For travelers from the US, is the vaccine card sufficient for the vaccine certificate requirement to upload on the MySOS app?
I'd love to a guide on how you mail out a postcard back to the USA.
Thank you for coming to Japan!
great advice about skipping the line, will be doing this when visiting Osaka in March can't wait
For the bowing in a nutshell: if you are of importance, your head will be higher when you bow. So for example in shops, if the service-person bows to you, a light bow or nudge is enough because the shop serves the customer. Also in general, saying arigatogosaimasu or thank you when you get something is a respectable way of dealing with people. So e.g. a small bow or nudge, coupled with arigatogosaimasu when you get or gain something from an another person, is how you are culturally appropriate in Japan
This is of course the bare bone version and there are a LOT more to this but for tourists, this is enough
Enjoy日本
We are going to pick up our daughter who is in Tokyo in the end of February! So happy!
Japanese bloggers gonna milk it hard.
Bowing is done as a sign of respect towards of staff towards customers. There is no need to bow back, just a simple Arigatou Gozaimasu or head nod is perfectly fine. As a tourist and guest, there aren't many situations where you would need to bow, especially where you are just walking through town shopping or eating at restaurants.
What was that adorable AstroBoy card you held up? Is it a train pass? So cute!
This is awesome, I'm visiting Japan myself at the end of November
Welcome to Osaka. As a foreigner who has been living here for years … it was nice to see your excitement. Have fun and gently nod. You don’t have to deeply bow.
I'm gonna have 24h layover in Japan. Do you know if I can go outside within that 24h?
