I took the Aguila bus from La Paz to Cabo and had a great experience. The buses are very nice. Long distance buses in Mexico are so much better than Greyhound buses in the states. The schedule was almost hourly on Aguila. There was an ABC bus doing this same route, but it was less often. Both companies have luxury buses.

The bus station in La Paz is in the middle of the Malecon. In San Jose del Cabo, it’s about a mile walk into the main square. And in Cabo San Lucas, it’s a couple miles from the water.

I compare this to the Eco Baja Tours small buses which are about $30 (compared to $15 on the bigger Aguila bus.)
🚍Eco Baja is faster
🚍Aguila has more daily trips
🚍Aguila has a bathroom on the bus
🚍Eco Baja tours stops for a 15 minute stretch / bathroom break
🚍Aguila has super comfortable seats vs Eco Baja is hit or miss on the seats
🚍Eco Baja operators speak English
🚍Aguila goes to San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas vs Eco Baja goes to the SJD airport

  1. Thanks Brighton. I like learning about the bus systems in Mexico. Once I move to Mexico I plan to travel within the country so will probably be on a lot of buses. Wish we had a better bus system here in the US. 🚌🚍. ☮️❤️😎

  2. Ahhhh the adventures of Mr B. continue. As a guy that finally caught Covid (3 wks ago) I might mask up more. But that's me. I didn't care for the 103.1 temp. But your videos kept me entertained. Thanks man…👏🎬👍👍

  3. You would be correct Mr. B pancakes are basically flour, baking powder or baking soda, eggs, milk, vanilla, salt, oil or butter. wallah!

  4. The bus system in Mexico is incredible, especially the Executive Class buses. When you're finally able to visit Querétaro I'm hoping you'll be able to take a day trip on one of the buses or via Uber to Bernal. There are some small boutique hotels in Bernal, just in case You and Kat would like to stay overnight.

  5. This is probably the best way to get from La Paz to Los Cabos. It only cost me 380 pesos so like $20 usd. If you plan on taking us to get to the Cabo airport, it takes about 3 to 4 hours to get there on this bus.

  6. This is such a timely video for us! We just booked airfare into SJD for 10 days over Christmas but we don't land until 4:30 pm so renting a car and driving would be after dark. I went on the Aguila website and found a 6:00pm bus to La Paz that gets in a little after 9pm. It was interesting looking at the schedule because I noticed some trip were 3:10 and some were 4 hours. I'm hoping the 3:10 trips take the toll roads and avoid going through CSL. Fingers crossed our condo will be ready! 🚌😃

  7. Hi B, I really enjoy your content. We are going to Cabo San Lucas in December. Is there a bus terminal that takes me from downtown Cabo to Todos Santo and is possible to do a day trip?

  8. Good evening, Brighton! Thank you very much for sharing these bus experiences with us!

I have a fantasy of not needing a car, once we get to Mexico. However, we also have a dog that we like to bring with us on our travels. So, we'll probably just bring our car once we start coming to Mexico. I guess that could all change if we are able to establish a connection with some sort of dog car (like, if we went to visit another town for the weekend).

    Safe travels!

  9. Hello Brighton, I am currently in El centenario .. looking for a realtor to help me find a long term rental/ possibly a home… do you have anyone that’s speaks English and actually keeps there appointments? 🤪 love your content Tia..

  10. Hi B,

Just wondering where does the aguila bus stop in san jose del cabo when you were coming from la paz? and is it safe to purchase the bus tix in la pas the same day that you are leaving. Thanks
