  1. I lived in Budapest for a year in the early 90s, about the time the wall came down. I never knew the names of anything I ate. I could just see the names on the menu and point to it.

  2. A Hungarian friend of mine took me to Budapest in 2017. What a great experience, especially considering I’m from a small town in Florida. What an astonishingly beautiful city!!! Spoiler alert: I must say up front that if you have a wheat allergy, it’s very hard to find sans gluten in Hungary, or most cities in the Eastern countries. That said, considering my friend spoke Hungarian, I found lots of delicious things to eat., although I drooled at his pastries, dishes with pasta, and so many street foods. My favorite place was the outdoor farmers market where we bought fresh bags full of paparikas (hot and sweet). Get both! You can’t buy it in USA that fresh!! My friend took time to teach me the transit system so, one day, he had family business to do, I had a blast exploring Pest on my own going to places he wasn’t interested in; hint, hint, really great shopping!!!! Didn’t buy much but had a great time looking and taking lots of pictures. We planned yo go back March 2020 but everything went crazy a week before departure. We almost went anyway believing the pandemic wouldn’t effect us. Glad we didn’t!! Looking forward to visiting again in the safe future. An add on: Austria, Czech (Praque!!!) and Croatia are also beautiful countries to visit.

  3. About Zing: It is not even closely the Best burger in Budapest. And yes it's usualy that pink in Zing but in other places it's not. It is like the McDonald's of Hungary becaouse it's basically everywhere in Budapest and of you get Hungry and there are no other option just other fast food chains like burger king or McDonald's than Zing is the Best option. But there are so much better burger places. For Example there is Bamba Marha wich is I think one of the bests. It is also a restaurant chain but there are fewer places and arguably Way better than Zing. But there are also small individual places that have amazing burgers. I don't know who told you Zing was the best but that person doesn't seem to me a true "Budapester".

  4. Yeah i'm Hungarian and the food prices(really any price) is just too dang high for us too,not just tourists.

  5. Lángos is best when you smear it first with some garlic oil,and then put the cheese and sour cream on top.the oil gives it a better taste

  6. Az oroszbarátnak szentelt vagy az ukrajnai háború iránt közömbös: a passzivitás cinkosság!! Orosz katonák nőket erőszakolnak meg és civileket gyilkolnak meg. Ne tűrd már!!

  7. I am actually from Hungary i think the first restaurant you have shown "Fakanál Etterem" in that name theres instead of the first E its should be an É

  8. In response to your question about what was served with dumplings, it was called, "Bacon-Honey Cabbage."

    Unconsciously delicious: P

  9. The interesting thing is that the Hungarians do Italian food really well. The best Italian restaurant I have been to outside of Italy was in Kesckemet – near the train station. I hope it's still there when I go back next year.

  10. I know its been 4 years ago, but if you want a proper burger, you better not try get that in hungary. We have no idea what is a proper burger, not even Zing i would consider as a good one.

  11. Thanks for posting this video me and my sister are going to Budapest in November and the food looks delicious I'm a big fan of Italian food to so will give this restaurant a try.

  12. Karavan is a must. for us. Just hope its open in November when we go. Only 10 min walk from our hotel.

  13. 6:49 You are somewhat close in most cases and people would be able to understand those words, but you read it with an American accent, which is of course not the right way.

  14. I can't tell what the "other dish" is by sight. Potentially galuska (guh-loo-shka) or nokedli. The cheese one would probably be sajtos galuska or sajtos teszta (shy-toe-sh….tay-stah).
