  1. Nira is what westerners would call garlic chives. They grow like regular chives but they have flat leaves. They're a type of leek actually. I grow them in a pot on my porch. They can have a strong garlic-onion smell if you cut them and they sit for too long. They're nice chopped up in some stir fries and in place of regular chives in various dishes.

  2. I just want to say thank you for making these awesome videos! They are so peaceful to watch and very educational and the editing is awesome! Love you guys!

  3. 3:25 Hey, I've been watching your videos for years, and this is without a doubt the wildest thing that's ever happened in any of your videos. (Yes, that includes Eric's hitchhiking story about the couple and the bench.)

  4. What a fuuuuun videoooo. Lol. I Love alpacas XD Also, that cave tour thing just seemed So Cool. I gotta say, I Love that Kyde does that kind of stuff, and like you guys said, most of the time it Does work out and end up being Amazing. Love the prefecture videos So Much. Thanks guys :))

  5. Great video! I am fascinated by the mine and caves! I think I’m sensing a bit of something “off” with Kyde right after the gyoza…maybe tiredness, crabbiness, or irritation?!?! Just wondering, hoping I’m wrong, and thankful she's human. Cheers!

  6. I loved the new summary endings, it helps put it all together. Keep on having adventures Kyde and Eric!

  7. The Golden Gate Bridge is, indeed, a suspension bridge. Until the year I was born, 1964, The Golden Gate bridge had the largest suspended main span of any bridge in the world ! Since then it has been surpassed ten times.

  8. Here is a slightly loaded question. While editing this video, do you miss Japan yet? And after living in Japan for so long, do you consider Japan home more than America. As always, awesome adventure guys!

  9. Just when I didn’t think I could love Japan anymore – there is a gyoza festival???? 😱😋🤤🥟🥟🥟

  10. I love that Eric just embraces the craziness even though it makes him uncomfortable because he loves you. He is a keeper!

  11. That moment when Kyde said the gyoza looked like the inside of a bug. Probably killed your appetite right? Lol

  12. 56:26 Neerah (sic?) almost sounds like ramps from the Southern US! Tasty garlicky onions, but you get smelly sweat shortly after eating them! Eric, the skin on two of the triple set of gyoza looked like they were made of shirataki/konjac. So much alpaca fun! Thanks!

  13. Some say she is half alien and half magical creature, some say she ate a galaxy one, all we know is that her name is… CAPTAIN STIG!

  14. Randomly remembering the comment about whether suspension bridges are only for foot traffic xD The Rainbow Bridge in Tokyo is a suspension bridge and the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge is the longest suspension bridge in the world.

  15. Ahh the mine was soo cool- good instincts Kyde! Seems like they were mining building stone out of the soft volcanic rock- pumice! I didn't realize it was used for buildings though, ever neat! I wouldn't build my house out of that today though, better for landscaping or sculptures maybe.

  16. I again paused at 24 minutes not to critique but to appreciate the food reviews you guys do great job the pork looked great. it looked like eric got the fatty part i wanted to see your reaction to it but i imagine it was great. you guys do a great job.they say old milk cow beef can be as good as waigu.

  17. Fantastic video as usual Kyde and Eric! Been watching since the 4 part Living in Japan series y'all put out 6~ years ago!

  18. Eric, your exercise of the self control to not just stick an entire Gyoza in your mouth is commendable.

  19. i just want to say you two have a old school YouTube class and charm. So authentic. i haven't visited your channel in years. Im so happy to see how wonderful it still is

  20. I would love to travel with you kyde! Eric is right it seems like spur of the moments things tend to be the best

  21. Ohhhh, i l-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-ove those gorgeous Alpaca(s…??); AND the marvellous Pony too, of course ({: D …! But am quite certain that i would care Not.One.Tiny.Bit for that, swingin'-and -swayin', suspension foot-bridge that Our Kyde did seem so much to enjoy; oh no, No, NO ({: o …!! Ooooooo, emmm-geeee: those centipedes; "ix-nay" on them, TOO ({: | …. Everything else, though: totally cool – the fun boat*ride-in-the-water-cave, the 'all-ya-can-snarf-down' Gyoza*Fest ({; D ; ALL wonderful! Yet another 'lit', and 'legend', video ({; > …!!! ~Love // <3 / <3

  22. Nira like a Chinese Leek, Garlic Chive, or from back home in VA we called them Ramps, and BOY do they stink to high heaven, but have a wonderful flavor. Senior year of high school, one of the other teachers placed a bag of summer car temperature ramps in my English teacher's desk, as a ritual hazing they would do to each other. We had to evacuate that wing of the campus. 😀

  23. Off topic, but I was wondering if Eric has ever heard of a band called pocket? A 2 person punk band from saitama. Kinda like the white stripes with a guy on guitar and a girl playing drums, but more of a Blue hearts vibe. They were really fun! Felt bad for them cuz there was only like 5 people at the gig, but what are you gonna do during these crazy times. I know you guys used to live in Saitama, so thought of you guys.

  24. I know this videos a few years old But I lived in tokyo for a year and seen teppanyaki restaurants. Though the prices are way higher than the ones I've been here in canada. 150-300$ pre person. There was even one right out side the bamboo forest tourist area in kyoto. Like right when you exit. Lots of the super high end ones are in ginza.

  25. It's amazing to eat without adding chili oil or soy sauce, it's impossible for Japanese people
