10:51 Oversized Baggage Reservation Required
By the way, the maximum size of baggage allowed on the shinkansen is 160 cm (63 inch), which is slightly more generous than that of most airlines 🙂 If your baggage is larger than 160 cm, you need to reserve a seat with an oversized baggage area. 1. Thank you for such a great video, really informative!

    I'm heading to Japan in a couple of weeks but I still have so many questions like;
    Can I use JR Pass on the tokyo subway?
    What food is there for a person (me) who does not eat fish, pork or beef (but I do eat chicken!)?
    I really enjoy visiting a big supermarket when visiting foreign countries, what is the Japanese equivalent to Walmart?

    If you're also a tour guide or available for itinerary consultation (I'd pay of course!), let me know 🙂

  2. Thank you so much for the useful inf. My flight is in 2 days to Tokyo. I almost made the mistake to wait until arrive. Love your video.

  3. Very informative..thank you..But I still find it all very complicated as I have trouble taking it all in. I want to visit Japan (Tokyo) in early January….and hopefully visit Kyoto…I have never undertaken such a trip (long haul..I'm in UK) and have no experience of traveling alone (have traveled twice before..but all arrangements were undertaken by my late partner.)…It may seem crazy to attempt such a trip with no experience, but I won a ticket to see my favourite band LIVE in Tokyo…hence the need to go…(thinking back it was crazy to enter but didn't expect to win)….Chances are this will be a once in a lifetime trip…so would so love to see something of Japan while there……Do you know how much it would cost to hire a guide and where would I be able to find such?…Do you think hotels would know?..or be able to sort a guide?…I'll be honest and don't really see myself ever getting there….I feel it's all to complicated for me to take in what's needed as I am worried I might get there but then not be let in because I have missed something.
