I have 11 days in a row I won’t be at work (spring recess) (April 6-16) so that’s 11 days. Hopefully that’s enough to hit Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. I really want to go visit Super Mario World in Universal Studios Japan. I was looking at flights and no direct flights from New York to Osaka. Only from New York to Tokyo but it’s $$$. I have the money but you know, trying to save haha.
Thank you as always Corny! I got my dream job back is the US that allows me to work from anywhere – I’ll be back in Japan for a few months (tourist visa only allows up to 90 days, which is fair) starting March of next year, so these tips will be great 🥰 I was so shook when I was there last time that I could get a whole salmon filet IN A CONVENIENCE STORE for like $4?? And it was actually good??? Gonna have to hit up the gyms this time, too, I’m on a weightlifting programme atm!
Great news. Going to Tokyo 13-28th Nov. hope to finally meet ya!!!
Got my tickets booked for lunar new year
Greetings from korea 🇰🇷 😁
❤
thanks but could you also tell us if we wanted to work in Japan which website or app would we use to not get big scammed
i saw a documentary about the capsule hotels a long time ago, i think on the travel channel. i've seen other youtubers try them out recently and it would be cool to see you try it one day. lol
and tourist traps?…i was on one livestream where this dude went to a museum of-….lol nevermind. but even though it was funny, it did seem like a tourist trap.
it's funny you said akihabara was a nerd place. i heard they made a sentai parody called akihabaranger where it was a bunch of sentai otaku. lol
i didn't know they made a new tower in japan. but yeah tokyo tower is iconic. is this new thing even in anime yet? it has a long way to go before it gets to that status. lol
Thank you Corny! I haven't been back since 2019 like others. Any new spots you would like to share, to eat, shop or see. Thank you again for the updates 😀
I’ll be there a week after only for a week. Hopefully there’s not that many tourists yet. Food is on my mind.
Agreed on the major sites: go see em if you want to but be aware shopping will be ¥¥¥ especially on whatever main thoroughfare it’s off if (Asakusa ~ Nakamise-dori). Best to just venture the lil side streets off of it for better deals 👍
One super important thing I learned is that MANY places are opened ‘late’. Some coffee shops/eateries/shops/museums don’t open until 10am so plan accordingly. Places that are beneficial to get up early to see: usually busy sites like Ninenzaka/Sanenzaka (Kyoto) and Sensoji (Tokyo) that are usually shoulder-to-shoulder at noon.
And random weekday closures 🙃 if it’s a place you’re super intent on visiting make sure to find and check their hours of business 👏
Holla if y’all coming to Hiroshimaaaaa 🙌
hey corny!! im a 18 year old senior that graduates in may and id like to go to a language school in japan do you have any good recommendations?🥲
I wanna go to Sega store really bad
There are some tourist traps in Japan! Fairly rare but still. Sundai went to a restaurant on New Years and they got scammed with all these weird charges and stuff they didn’t even order I think. They were approached on the street by the staff and decided to go for it. Trying to get customers by advertising on the street is fairly common but I think Japan is trying to make it less common, at least host clubs are not allowed to do that anymore. So I’d be careful about those places that approach you on the street just in case you’re not sure if they’re legit or not. Also Abroad in Japan made a video about a couple who were drugged in a bar in Japan and the bar charged a ridiculous amount from their credit card while they were passed out… I think both of these cases happened in Shinjuku so maybe just do research on where to go in advance.
I’ve booked a trip to Japan for next March! I’ve been there many times but it’s been so long and I miss my friends😭
