A few days ago, I took an early morning walk on the beach in Kota Bharu and thought I would share it with you all. Lots of social distancing with literally no one on the beach for parts of the walk. Bit of an overcast day but all the days seem to be like that here in KB, but, it was a refreshing walk and blew a few covid-19 lockdown cobwebs off.

Hai 👋 Darren, good afternoon.
Very comfortable walk on the beach. 😍
Hey Darren, from the east coast of Malaysia look north east and you should see me waving at you from San Francisco.🤣🤣 A little cloudy today in Malaysia. You should invest in a fishing pole.
Hi hi.. Darren 😀. Your calm👍🙌 narrative reminds me of Sir David Attenborough and his wonderful documentaries👍👍… Stay safe and keep sharing!
Kelantan coast is wave dominated and has rivers flowing into it so its very muddy,,,
You should head to Perhentian Islands or Redang Island…along the way you can explore Terengganu
Its recently eid and its a big holiday in east coast..so ppl tend take leave longer the following week
Great video! One reason English might not be spoken as much there is because the East Coast of Malaysia (Kelantan, Terengganu) has a predominant Malay population, while in Perak or Selangor, more English might be spoken because it is more touristy.
Kota Bharu (affectionately called KB), my hometown. This is Pantai Cahaya Bulan (PCB and formerly known as Pantai Cinta Berahi or Beach of Passionate Love a long time ago). Thanks for sharing. I'm based and working overseas and I come home every year, except this year! I can't wait to come home when Malaysia opens her international borders. Next, you will love the beaches in the neighbouring Terengganu. Highly recommend The Taaras Beach and Spa Resort at Pulau Redang, Terengganu. While you at Terengganu, might as well go to the five-istari islands; Pulau, Redang, Pulau Perhentian, Pulau Kapas, Pulau Lang Tengah and Pulau Bidong. You'll see turquoise blue waters, colourful school of fish, probably sea turtles and baby sharks, if you're lucky! Next, heads on to Pulau Tioman, in the neigbouring Pahang, which was one of the top ten beautiful islands in the world! Enjoy!
Hi Darren, another great video pal. Do you foresee the RMCO end date (31st August) being extended?
You should go to one of the islands in the east coast. perhentian ,redang , tioman etc
Wonderful walk along d beachside. U deserve to be at an idyllic white sandy crystal clear water beaches Ike d one in d islands. Somehow, I feel d beaches in Terengganu n Pahamg r more beautiful. This is wonderful as well. Hope u find good food in Kota Bharu.
ياسيدي انا احب ماليزيا وانا اتابع ماتنشره من زمن طويل
nice remote deruzel 💪
Pantai Cahaya Bulan only alive after-noon till at night.
You missed the main Fact! Kelantanese eat N.A.S.I @ rice for their breakfast, in which you can't find at the beach. You'll easily can find many morning stalls & restaurant sell NASI, especially along the roads.
Lunch time applied at lunch restaurant & dinner also have it's own restaurant or stalls.
Btw, Kelantan is one of Malaysia's food heaven.
Kelantanese slang is very dominant, and it is true English is rarely spoken, besides British accent is off the scale, especially pronunciation. You need to talk with the word by word, but in American pronunciation.
I'm also a Kelantanese.
If you're heading to Kuala Terengganu, i would like to recommend you to stay at Bunk & Lodge. It is near to all amenities and has good reviews.
Also, if you have the opportunity to stop in Besut on your way from Kota Bharu to Kuala Terengganu, then make a visit to the traditional wood carving village (Desa Ukiran Kayu), near the palace of Tengku Long in Kampung Raja (see http://whassan.blogspot.com/2010/07/desa-ukiran-kayu-wood-carving-training.html?m=1)
A trip to the beach is good for the soul when it is not crowded, especially after being locked down for so long. Great stopping in these type beach fron bungalows, sunrise and sunsets are spectacular. And the sound of the ocean so close helps you to get a good nights sleep. I think alot of the plastic bottles etc are washed up on the tide, when we stayed in bech bungalows at Palm beach Resort in Sematan near Kuching, there were staff out at the break of day picking it all up and bagging it, maybe when the bungalows are re opened the same will happen there. Hope you managed to find yourself some food.
As a Malaysian from Petaling Jaya I've never been to the eastern states. It's time to explore 😁
VVV… 😎
Relaxing walk on the beach right there 🙂 But the trash is not good 🙁
I remember when you only had 3-4 thousand subscriber and I always wondered why so few. Happy for you.
I understand on the east coast the undercurrents are very strong so take care if u go in for a dip in the sea.
I could have listened to the waves on the beach all day…that was so peaceful and calming. I havent commented much but have enjoyed watching all your latest adventures and have really enjoyed following along from my living room. Stay safe and well Darren. 🙂
Kelantan is ghost places
I stayed two days in Kota Bharu in 2016, I wish I've stayed more, there's something about that town, so peaceful
This town, is coming like a ghost town
All the clubs have been closed down
This place, is coming like a ghost town
Recommended place to go in kota bharu for makan²🤭
Nasi ulam cikgu kg kraftangan
Baitee laksam
Yatie ayam percik
Jijah's nasi kerabu
I really love your videos
Hi Darren
Another great Video yes that was the South China Sea.
I am not sure when you were there but soon will be the Monsoon season and those sea will be very rough indeed
Looking forward to Kuala Terengganu.
Nice video. I am a big fan of your channel. Keep on. You are the man. I watch every single of your videos. The beach is my root. I created my own channel Russell Designer to show even more travel highlights. Come to check it out and I will always follow you back
i hope you're going to drop by one of the islands, eg Perhentian, on your next stop.
and if you think English is not spoken in Kota Bharu…standard Malay is not spoken either! Most people from outside will not understand the local dialect…it's a bit like our own version of the Geordie accent 🙂
It brings back old memories i had when i was young, anyway, keep vlogging Darren!
What my pal Jamily said is exactly true about PCB. You'll notice there are some efforts to build some retaining to mitigate the high tide. It's not really recommended for swimming because of unexpected slopes and berms due to erosion. If you really want to visit nice beaches, you should go to Pantai Tok Bali, Pantai Senok, Pantai Irama etc and nice waterfalls like Jeram Pasu, Jeram Linang, Lata Berangin etc. (Just use Google Maps and it will show you how to get there even with Public Transports)
I love Kota Bahru it’s a very friendly relaxed city to be in. Their food is a good mix between Malay, Chinese and Thai too. Not much spicy food just sweet.
Heard that the only nude beach in the whole of Malaysia is located there in Kota Bahru do you know where it is ?
Come visit Kuala Lumpur Remote Darren maybe we'll meet by chance
