This is a detailed video of our personal experience walking the Kumano, and it’s intended for those of you who want to know what it will be like. We spent three days on the Kumano Kodo, Please excuse the mispronunciations and I hope that you like the video. Helpful links are below:
The entire video was filmed in 4K with a GoPro Hero 7 and a Mavic Air Drone.
There aren't that many options for lodging in the mountains, and basically no luxury hotels. The local community website has a pretty comprehensive listing but you need to reserve fairly far ahead of time. I stayed at Kirinosato Takahara, which you hiked past, and it was great!
Hi, thanks for the guides. I walked the Camino a couple of years ago and have been looking for a similar experience since.Ive booked a trip to do this walk in Autumn but your films suggest that using walking poles will be essential. I’ve never used them so I’d welcome your feedback please. Many thanks, Ernest
Great Great and informative video. Going to Japan for an extended stay and initially I hadn’t included this in my hiking itinerary but after viewing your video I now have and absorbing as much information as I can find filling in the gaps. Don’t apologize for not having a gimbal you did a great job and many pilgrims a service. God bless.

thank you so much for sharing!
I also completed the Camino Frances in October 2018 (4th). I’m doing KK November 2019 (14th). Thanks for sharing and Buen Camino 👣
What month did you go in? I was thinking of doing my pilgrimage in November. I rather freeze than melt in Japan lol.
Have you considered walking the Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage?
