The one thing that I can't get past with Japan is how they have an apparent beef with the base concept of "all men are created equal" often having anime that call it irrational, untrue or having things that try to disprove it.
Yet they miss the point entirely, to say that All men are created equal, is to say that no man is more important than another in the eyes of God. And that, on most levels, we start off as infants, equal in the fact that we cannot take care of ourselves.
Yet, apparently Japan can't seem to comprehend this.
its about the same cold as canada cold, so im okay for the winter… but man did the prices jump a ton
As a trucker who has to use thermal underwear during the winter months here in the US, I know the temperatures that require someone to wear them. If you say Japan is that cold or colder, I'll take your word for it.
Dude I totally get the whole "ate?! Just give me my freaking burger and fries!" syndrome we all have. Britain is similar (no where near our level but they don't like delays uless there is a reason. Gleam the culture from the Railway Series, British people do care and understand during delays. Yeah I know you are a Cultural lover but I am a railfan culture lover and Thomas The Tank Engine got me into my respect of Britain. Heck I will never call the exhaust pipe on steam engines smaller than a factory Smokestacks, no those large brick tubes coming from factories or power plants have smokestacks, locomotives and such have funnles.) If trains are late without fault of the drivers and fireman then they understand.
Still fascinates me how the Japanese love trains on par with me and indeed Thomas (hopefully my toy line I am working on making will gain popularity over there. Honestly would love to one day Commission you as a cultural advisor for my toys transitioning for overseas help. But we all have dreams. Gotta get my Patreon started ASAP) That the rail system in Japan is so unbelievable in efficiency, and sadly employees are under a lot of stress to be on time to the point of seconds late equal traing camps. Which can lead to accidents and trains involved is never good for lives.
But glad you are back, is little G off floating in the ocean again? Better get back for the next Which Ninja! Gotta say the line you know, speaking of he owes Colt a "Real Ninjas Wear Blue) when he gets back. He was wearing night ninja colors, Rocky the Forrest and Tum-Tum the autumn colors.
Make sure you say hi to your family in Japan when you get back there.

Well, I can think of ONE that ticks me off…
Iam hoping to do the JET program next year.
You saying things are cold makes me realize I need that year to prepare before applying.
I saw some cheap tickets for a 2 week retour in April and I want to dive onto it… But I'm not confident anymore. My Japanese became a touch more rusty and physique went downhill, combine this with hearing how they're retreating more into their shell, I'm not as sure anymore
People like you are the reason why we get to enjoy Japan
Your love for the country is so deep and profound so from the bottom of heart thank you
What I would do if I were running one of these Japanese tourism agencies, and I felt that there's too many tourists for our Japanese tourism agency to handle, is to simply raise tourism prices (at least temporarily until our capacity to handle more tourists is expanded upon), so that tourism is discouraged for all but the richest of tourists, and so that our tourism agency could get more money from each tourist they cater to without overburdening the local Japanese working within our tourism industry.
As profits increase, and our industry expands upon their ability to handle more tourists, then I could consider lowering prices for tourists again, especially when the available supply of wealthy tourist clients is not enough to support our agency's expanded capacity.
Americans are impatient. They should be more like the British.
because look how good that policy is for the rest of the world. especially Sweden.
japan is a nice country. their policies work. they shouldn't be changing these things.
I get that people may end up holding off…..but can Japan afford that? Plus, why would I want to go over there and treated that way I have seen other foreigners treated?
ngl, I'm still gonna get used to seeing you without the beanie
EDIT: Remember they will be open to ALL! That means huge amounts of tourists of a certain country. Look up who is worse than US tourists!
Bro it sucks when you're dressed warm but the hop on a heated train after being on 2 cold ones, plus body temp is up from walking. Sweat city, cold sweat, 🥶
I wanna go so badly, but i physically cant, gotta save up much more money first
I'm waiting for Spring or possibly even next fall. After the trailer reveal, a part of me wants to go to Osaka to see the Mario Movie and check out the Nintendo theme park when that launches, but another part of me wants to wait and go to Tokyo for Halloween next year. I really love the cold so I'd much rather go and experience a cold Japanese autumn than risk enduring an overly hot Japanese spring.
And in 1 or 2 month it will close off again because the numbers rise once more.
I'd like to go to Japan, but I'm one of those peeps that need a friend over there to keep me out of troubling situations. Lol. Not necessarily because I'm a magnet for trouble, just that I'm a doofus. 🤣
You're shirt looks very cool where did you get it from?
MORE BREAKING NEWS: A North Korean Hwasong-12 missile is heading to Japan
Man I live in canada il be fine lol
Considering how any time I go on vacation the weather goes completly nuts on me. If I went to Japan after all this covid crap I'd probably arive in Tokyo mid Gojira attack.
I typed this before Gaijin said similar things, but I agree: I'd say that unless you have a personal reason to go earlier – people you already know, for example – this fall is too early. Giving them half a year and visiting in spring seems like a much better idea for tourists
I'm glad You got some rest & feel refreshed. 😄 (I would love to go to Japan but I can't even afford to buy groceries to feed My Family.)
I recently learned Little Tokyo's Toy District also doesn't have indoor heating or cooling. This is apparently exclusive to that part of Little Tokyo though.
Also honestly, the Japanese government subsidized the fiber-optic infrastructure yet they don't have indoor heating or cooling? Messed up priorities much?
5:14 Probably should, while the numbers flatlined in September after an August spike, they're still in the ten thousands.
If we don't go to Japan immediately, does subscribing to things like Bokksu help Japan's economy, or is that negligible?
I will finally get to visit Japan…in October of next year, celebrating my graduation from college.
It's still not the right time. TBH, no one really took COVID seriously, and it doesn't help that there was a whole cult online trying to keep the plague alive. And politicians quickly decided to support that cult.
Curious for random people on the internet to comment. I have friends in Japan that are willing to host me. The trip I'm planning for myself is late January early February. Opinions about that time frame?
You're right about the language part. Despite being bilingual in French and English since I was a toddler, living in an English province for a few years destroyed my French skills. I could still speak it but I had to think hard on how to say things, which words to use and etc. It was such a big struggle to get back to full bilingualism.
Odd thing is as japan has left it so late in the year to open with not much notice a lot of people dont have holiday days left or already book other places to go on holiday as a lot of place do holiday over a yeary calendar (jan-dec). Even been checking fights to japan everything post march 2023 is a wild price why everything before it not so much outside of xmas and a few odd dates, going to be interesting to see how things play out.
Literally every airbnb I've been in, to include the traditional homes had electrical heating, we're talking about 6 or 7 different times I've gone and in different regions of Japan.
Of course people will complain about their time being wasted, some people go on vacations for a few days because that's all they could muster.
For Halloween, you should make a video about the cultural references in Darkstalkers.
This seems like an overreaction. For starters, I expect mofa to update on 10/11 to clear up the regs (the Red/Yellow/Blue goes away). Get your 3 shots, have your blue passport valid and you're clear. Next, I'm not expecting a huge wave of tourists coming right away. Many working folks probably spent their vacation days going somewhere else during the summer and whatever is left is for Xmas season. If you can get the days and have the money, the exchange rate is amazing, then great. Then there are some arguments playing to the fears of the "stupid and rude American tourist." They exist, not denying it. Just don't be one. No country wants to put up with it. I find the heating comment laughable. I guess if you want an authentic experience go to an abnb that has an irori. But, you're gonna be ok at an international hotel.
that southern boy accent leaking out "It gon be cold" XD 2:20
This is probably going to be a really annoying question, but do you have any recommendations on how I can buy certain things from Japan without actually going? I know there's plenty of sites for snacks which works for me in that department, but I'm really interesting in Japanese art/craft supplies/kits and I've tried looking at the proxy service sites, but I could never find any craft supplies. Amazon charges an arm and a leg for Popin Cookin(Not exactly a craft kit but it's still something you make) and I'd like to help Japan's economy by buying stuff from them, but I don't know how. I don't know if I'll ever be able to afford to go to Japan in my life, but as much as I like the anime/manga side of Japan, I'm more interested in food and fun.
I want to go to Shirakawa gifu
Glad to see you back and rested! You look good!
I'm already planning for late january exactly because i don't wanna rush things too much, but i do wanna go back in the near future. Plus i haven't experienced Japan in the winter yet so i figured it should be a nice balance?
Thanks for the thermal underwear tip pffhaha
first time I've seen gaijins hair..it looks so cool
Can't wait to see your Trash Taste Cameo…
What I have always found a bit strange about these sorts of videos is how it only focuses on tourists from the US but US tourists only make up at most 7% of Japan’s tourism. The reality is that the vast majority of Japan’s tourism came from other Asian countries. Especially from China who where 3 times bigger than the number of tourists from both the US and Europe combined and China is still pursing a zero COVID policy which effectively keeps the country closed to everyone including its own citizens and they are far from the only country in Asia to still have such restrictions. As for the US and Europe themselves, well, both the US and Europe (Especially Europe) are going through some extremely tough times economically and in the case of Europe, flight prices have doubled and tripled due to both an increase in fuel costs and the fact that Russian airspace is closed due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. So tbh given the severe economic crisis and upcoming global economic depression, extremely expensive flights and continued restrictions in Asia makes me severely doubt Japan will have any kind of a surge in tourism for the foreseeable future. If anything Japan should be more worried if it will have enough tourists to try and stop the Yen’s slide then it will about over tourism.
This was not the video I thought it was going to be. It definitely wasn't the venting rant I was expecting and you brought you a lot of sensible points.
