【What is “BeerFes” ?】
The official name of BeerFes is the “Great Japan Beer Festival.”
It has been held annually in Tokyo since 1998, in Osaka since 2003, in Yokohama since 2006, in Nagoya since 2011, and in Okinawa since 2014. These events have become widely known to the craft beer industry as well as the general public, and have become the largest events of their kind in Japan.
Japanese craft beer, which was created in 1995, is now readily available in many parts of Japan, and at BeerFes, visitors can experience the diversity of beer and learn about “beer styles” by tasting many beers and comparing their tastes and aromas.
The four features of BeerFes are as follows. (For regular events. This year the contents have been changed to prevent infection)
1. You can sample as many craft and international beers as you like for only the admission fee.
2. Beers that have won gold, silver, and bronze awards at the International Beer Cup (est. 1996), one of the world’s five major beer competitions, and the Japan Great Beer Awards (est. 2019), the largest beer competition in Japan, will be on offer.
3. You can smell and compare various aromas of craft beers with the “Best Aroma Glass” specially made for the BeerFes.
