  6. Dulu indonesia, malaysia, thailand itu 1 negara sebelum pulau2 terpecah belah dan menjadi negara masing2.
    Mangkanya wajahnya mirip2 orang indonesia

  7. Some foods from Malaysia, Thailand, or Southeast Asia, originated in Cambodia. All of thai desserts, snacks, and some thai cuisines (ex. mango salad, papaya salad, beef/steak salad, sticky coconut rice with mango fruit, fried banana fritters, pineapple chicken curry, etc…), are Cambodian. All of Southeast Asia and their beautiful beaches use to belong to the Cambodian (Khmer) Empire in ancient times. Therefore, much of the culture, traditions, art, and foods heavily influenced the new immigrants who settled in the Cambodian Empire back then, especially Thais (Siam) and Laotians. There are also Chinese influences in Cambodian foods because there were Chinese immigrants living in the Khmer Empire/Cambodia. The Cambodian King’s brother once ruled Thailand and brought over Cambodian culture, traditions, art, formal language, food, and royal traditions & art, to teach the thai settlers. The Khmer Empire comprised all of Southeast Asia extending East from Vietnam all the way to Bangladesh in the West, all of Laos in the North, and all of Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Singapore in the South. The Khmer empire prospered and flourished for many years and long standing with a powerful army where enemies were unsuccessful in many battles; that remained until conflicts in the royal monarch occurred and natural disasters (frequent severely heavy floods) eventually took over, leaving Cambodia vulnerable to invasions by the enemies. The empire collapsed afterwards.

Cambodians are descendants of the Hindu Indians and so are Indonesians, Malaysians, and people of Sri Lanka. Thais, Vietnamese, Laotians, and Singaporeans, are all Chinese descendants. The Japanese, Taiwanese, and Koreans, are Chinese descendants as well. Then of course, there are intermixed marriages so lots of Thais, Vietnamese, and Laotians intermixed with Cambodians, and so some of them no longer look Chinese.

When some of the Hindu Indian Royal family members migrated to Cambodia to establish a new Empire, they brought over their traditions, religion, art, culture, architecture, and foods as well.

I am part Portuguese, Cambodian, French, and Italian. The fried banana fritters like the ones you tried in Malaysia, are one of my favorite Cambodian snacks. My mom often made them for me, especially when I was a kid. They are so yummy!
If you ever go to Cambodia, you should also try Cambodian corn tapioca, decorative coconut wafers, ginger chicken, stuffed lemongrass chicken, sautéed steak and tomatoes on a bed of lettuce (French Inspired), and beef/chicken lemongrass stew (samlaw majoo kreung). They are delicious Cambodian desserts, snacks, and cuisines. Go visit Angkor Wat, the largest temple in the world and one of the 7 world wonders recognized by world heritage UNESCO. There are also many other beautifully ornate art and architectures to discover. Enjoy the Royal court ballet & dances, which use to be only performed at the Royal palace for Royal members before the revolution.
Be careful though when you travel there, because there are many problems in Cambodia today since the revolution and genocide in the mid 1970’s. So much has changed for the worse since then and lots of people live in fear of or are brainwashed by the government ruling Cambodia. Even the Royal monarch members who escaped to France during the genocide but later returned, gave all power to the government and fear them because the government also took control of the army. The present government bureaucrats, including the current prime minister, who all came to power since the early 1980’s after the genocide ended in 1979, are the very same people who committed murder and genocide killing over 1.3 million Cambodians. There’s really no justice there anymore because corruption heavily exists in the bureaucracy. Those people despised and tried to eliminate/destroy all of Cambodian elites during the genocide and revolution
(elites: the highly educated, professionals, traditions, religion, formalities, formal language, high society, aristocracy, royal monarch, architecture, wealthy people, aristocrats, and refined art); they opposed and hated all things that were considered elite, prestigious, or refined. Because they tried to destroy all of those things and almost succeeded in doing so, many of those things have declined or deteriorated tremendously. They are evil disgusting psychos who only seek power and money by brainwashing, terrorizing, intimidating, and murdering many others to keep their power and money. They will murder people and their loved ones whom they hate or who disobey or interfere with their evil agendas. They remind me of the vicious rulings of Hitler, Sadam Hussein, Vladimir Putin, Usama Bin Laden, and Donald Trump & his loyal thugs. So be safe if you do travel there. Other than that, many and most Cambodians are friendly and welcoming.

I love my mom’s pineapple curry too, but curries are originally from India. Cambodians make their own version of curries, so they taste slightly different from the ones in India and Thailand and they are not so spicy either.

Happy Travels & Stay Safe! 🙂

  8. There have millions food in Malaysia iman char kuey tiaw in kedah state, near to Alor Star Tower, northern, laksa lemak/laksam, sup gearbox kelantan state, satay Samuri in Kuala Lumpur, mee jawa, asam pedas melakaor johore in the soutern state,

  9. Ais kapang seems to be a uniquely malayasian version of saruwath drink popular in Sri Lanka and India (so it made all the sense when he revealed that founder came from Lanka) Here, itsy usually made without adding coconut water afaik.

Roti canai is basically egg rotti which too is a popular dish in sri lanka. The way they add egg seems to unique but the end products looks the same.

It's cool to see that Malaysians also have some dishes from here as we also have some dishes that have had a lot of Malay/Java influence.

  10. Stay away from Pork and Pork Products. .
    The worst meat on earth.
    Not meant to be eaten.
    Full of disease.
