The largest zoo in Tohoku – Yagiyama Zoological Park Fujisaki No Mori
八木山動物公園フジサキの杜
The zoo is one of the largest zoos in the Tohoku region, home to 600 animals from 122 species. There are many attractions such as the Africa Garden House, where you can see the African elephants and giraffes, the Fierce Animal Zone with Sumatran tigers, lions, and polar bears, Petting Zone, where you can interact with goats, sheep, and small animals, a monkey mountain, endangered black rhinos, and red pandas. Various events are also held throughout the year.
