Guilin 桂林 is a prefecture-level city in the northeast of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of far southern China, sitting on the west bank of the Li River. Its name means “forest of Sweet Osmanthus”, owing to the large number of fragrant Sweet Osmanthus trees located in the city. The city is famous for its unique scenery.

‘East or west, Guilin landscape is best!’ Located in the northeast of Guangxi Zhuang in south China, Guilin is considered to be the pearl of China’s tourist industry. The natural beauty and historic treasures is well known. The city is rather compact when compared with other major tourist cities in the country. The stunning landscape in which the city is situated has a kind of magic that is all its own. The strangely shaped hills or karsts, with the verdant vegetation ranging from bamboos to conifers together with crystal clear waters and wonderful caves make the city such an appealing destination. It is also an important cultural city with a history of more than 2,000 years.

  1. I am a Canadian who is going to South China in Oct and was hoping to see more of the day to day life video.I'll just keep looking on you tube for a good video of that.

  2. Though picturesque scenery can be found easily in Guilin and surrounding areas, it's a dump. Housing is nothing but slums provided by the Communist government. It's a filthy place where sidewalks are shared with scooters and motorcycles honking at pedestrians. Streets are flooded with people, bikes, cars, and busses, without any right-of-way and thousands of selfish people.

  3. Since 20alphabet was so harsh concerning Guilin, I feel eager to visit sooner than 2016. I would love to help there, & maybe start a business cleaning up the environment. I do not care about traffic problems. My 2 feet can get out of the way very quickly.

  4. Thành phố ban đêm với ánh đèn đẹp ! T thích những con gấu trúc nhồi bông .☺💖
