Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Dome – 原爆ドーム : Japan is the only country in the world that had to suffer the horror of one of the most destructive forces ever created by mankind : an atomic bomb. A building heavily damaged and exposed to radiation during WWII by the first ever used atomic bomb.

The Hiroshima Peace Memorial (Genbaku Dome) was the only structure left standing in the area where the first atomic bomb exploded on 6 August 1945. Through the efforts of many people, including those of the city of Hiroshima, it has been preserved in the same state as immediately after the bombing.

Atomic Bomb Dome – The Hiroshima Peace Memorial is a symbol representing the cost of war and the importance of peace.
