DREAM STATE : experimental Japan travel film

DREAM STATE is my latest project, combing audio (in the form of an EP, sound design, sound recordings and the mini-mix featured in this video) and video (with footage taken in Japan autumn 2019 and my own renders, visual effects and typographic illustration). DREAM STATE serves to take the listener on a journey, be by transporting them to the locations in the videos or by conjuring individual experiences — which seems all the more appropriate at the moment as many of us are in lockdown.

The video features footage spanning Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Okayama, Hakone, Takayama and Nara (and maybe the odd snippet of Nagoya). The sites features span shrines, gardens traditional festivals and many of the larger cities on Japan’s main island.
