Air New Zealand has just launched non-stop flight between New York and Auckland, New Zealand. I was invited to fly on the inaugural flight which is currently the fourth longest flight in the world. The flight time was 16 hours 35 minutes. The video document the whole flight experience from takeoff to landing.
However, the inaugural did suffer set back with a storm enroute which require additional fuel for safety so some bags were left behind. The current inward-facing Business Class seat on Air New Zealand will be replaced by a new product in 2024. I visited the new Skynest mock-up in Auckland. For the first time ever, economy class passengers are going to have the option of stretching out for some sleep on actual beds during their flight.
There are also some great scenes of JFK Airport and New York City from the helicopter by ZIP Aviation in this video. https://zipaviation.com/

world class…..
I would never do a flight this long, even if it was free, but if I had to do it, I would only go 1st class.
Sam thanks for sharing. The seat layout is a fail in business class. That is too odd. The destination is beautiful. The helicopter fly by was amazing. Always enjoy your videos.
Used them to go from Los Angeles to London few years ago. I can't remember which leg had the purple lights but it was a cool experience
My last trip before the pandemic was to Auckland. Hope soon to go back again.
Buissnes or Premium Ekonomy?Look Premium Ekonomy
16:33 Well, I guess that confirms it…. We're done with Covid! 😳🤣
Hate the business layout on this plane. Would make me claustrophobic. Never mind the Barney lights.
Too much indigenous content. Don’t really care. Not impressed this time.
Interesting. That business layout is terrible, as is the business seat design. Not having the option to half-recline is bad news, as is the messing around required to convert it to a full flat bed. It makes more work for the crew and more bits and pieces to carry. I am guessing, though, that it's the design that allows them to cram in most seats. Which is also ironic, seeing as they are weight-limited to 208 seats. The SkyNest is an equally bizarre idea and not something, as a 6'4" guy, that appeals. And 17 hours in ANY economy class seat is a no-no. I'd rather fly legs, stopping in Hawaii for at least a couple of hours break!
no masks at all? jesus
Flew that lay-out with ANZ and did not mind it at all!!!!
I'd prefer a window seat in economy to any seat in that business class. Just horrible.
"I asked for a window seat. Where's my damn window?"
As a Brit living in the US, I have discovered that almost all Americans absolutely HATE Marmite.
If the ultra long haul flights carry less passengers to allow more fuel, then they should remove those seats and spread the remainder out to give more legroom.
Nasty layout. I'd find another carrier.
Girl..?? She deserves more respect than that.
Logan he is a bus driver as well 🤣 😂
The economy class meal looks horrible and shouts out this is for economy class peasants
16+-hour flight, that is insane
I have flown many times on AirNZ business class and found that layout works well.
You still doing this crap Sam?
Thanks for this Sam. I offloaded your flight in Auckland so it’s interesting what goes on inside while we’re outside working. Thanks for giving a shout out to Air New Zealand! Hopefully we’ll have an upgraded layout on our new aircrafts
Geez, the only thing in those sky beds….I hope the plane food agrees with their stomachs because …. well, then it's pure hell in there….ugh….nothing worse.
A really good life… sponsored by viewers😅😅😅
Welcome Sam, keep up
I thought theyd "fixed" cattle class..reminds me of slave ship layouts
That storm in the gulf was probably hurricane Ian!
