I am an American Expat in Ho Chi Minh City, (Saigon) Vietnam. (I dislike the word Expatriate). I have lived in Vietnam for 3 years, I am almost considered an expert at living abroad. And also fly around South East Asia, to tour and travel, But for now, this is my Vietnam life, my HCMC Saigon life, my expat life. I always thought living abroad would be scary, but it’s interesting and fulfilling. The food is amazing, the culture is fascinating and the people are friendly and welcoming. If you ever wanted to take the leap to travel and live abroad, Tourism in Vietnam is buzzing right now since Vietnam reopens. I am often asked: are Vietnam borders open? Why anyone would watch vloggers as bad as me, I don’t know. Sometimes I make food vlogs, foodporn? Did you know yum in Vietnams mean “horn..”, well, neverminded. I hope you will feel encouraged by my channel. I heard you said ( don’t practice any religion ) . Well , when I was in my middle thirty’s did some research related with religion and discovered a lot of stuff about it . I was shocked to know that among all I learned , the main reason of this invention ( religion ) it’s to divide and conquer humanity around and you don’t have to agree with me but is in our face to see what country after another do to each other . A tragedy among humans , but that don’t mean that there’s a great mind or spirit who created this “ Universe “ in which we live in . Great videoclip my friend . . . . 👍🏻🙏👏✌🏻👋🏻😁❤️.

FYI , Vinh Nghiêm pagoda is actually not the biggest in HCMC . There are many other ones way bigger in Saigon , such as Minh Dang Quang pagoda in D2 or Viêt Nam Quoc Tu pagoda in D10 . The white statue there represents the Goddess of Mercy ( Quan Thê Am Bo tat ) , the equivalent of the Catholic Virgin Mary But she is not Buddha's mother . She is also the protector of the children . Sometimes she is shown holding a baby in her arms like Saint Mary and the baby Jesus Christ . The plaques you saw behind the glass windows are the deceased people's name plates . Their ashes are kept in funeral urns stored in a columbarium behind the pagoda main building .
