Last week we had a thunderstorm and I took the sudden notion to go out and film it. Needless to say, I got completely soaked, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it, and it was strangely refreshing, and very peaceful, to just stand and listen to the rain as it came down through the woodland and across the loch.
As you probably know, Scotland gets all kinds of weather and I thought it would be nice, for a change, to film in less than ideal conditions to give some balance to all the sunny, bright shots I usually endeavour to capture. Hope you enjoy it and you find it calming and peaceful π

Hope you find this restful & relaxing at this difficult time. Thanks for watching and to everybody who's subscribed π I tried hard to record good audio, which was done under an umbrella. If youβd like a quieter video, just lower the volume. Have a good week.
Hi David, how lovely, my tip is listen with the volume low-ish and let the nourishing rain visually do the talking as it were. During my post retirement vacation which started in May in the North west and the outer Hebrides, Uist's and Sky the rain and wind were my constant companions so it's a good reminder of that time. Thankfully I have now experienced some stunning hot weather too. I will be catching up on your videos in a few weeks after I return home. I can't understand why your Chanel is not taking over the world? I have a mental playlist of some of my favourites. I wonder if it's possible to 'Like' every time I watch one? not tried that? Stay well and I sincerely hope that you keep doing what you do. All the very best, Alan
Thank you David. I used to love walking in the rain. Itβs a solitary pursuit that allows you to just listen and drop the hubbub, concentrate on whatβs important and put it in perspective with the prospect of a hot shower when home!. Keep safe and well. C.
Dear David, as usual, your ability to capture beautiful images is unmatched. Tis a shame your vids don't get more views. I would like to offer a wee bit of advice. There are many like me that suffer from insomnia. Perhaps if you tag a video like this (with low music, gentle rain and little or no talking) with "to relieve stress /insomnia" it may get more views. If you go further down the rabbit hole, there is an entire "asmr" community using audio and visual to help people relax, destress and sleep. Some of it can get pretty strange but I believe your hard work would help others and is too good to be missed. Much love from the USA.
Hi David, There nothing like the sound of rain to calm the spirit along with the beautiful scenery. I ended my work day with your last video and started my day with this one. Thanks so much for all the time, effort and professionalism that goes into your work. Take care and be well.
A beautiful video David, sights and sounds! We can enjoy the beauty of a walk in the rain without getting our feet wet π. And the unexpected ending of sunshine pushing through – the calm after the storm! Added bonus: The three bridges in one shot π! As always David, thank you for all the effort you put in for our enjoyment!
Absolutely gorgeous. Most photographers would have hidden inside; you produced a gem.
So much beauty! Thanks for taking the time and risking a cold to get the clips. Wish I could visit there some day. Whoever owns the little house by the river must be a happy person. Keep the videos coming!
Absolutely beautiful, David . . Thank you so much for this wonderful calming video – really special.
David you really braved the elements for this video π§ we canβt imagine how wet and muddy you were by the end!! It was lovely to hear the rain and as always captured so beautifully ππ»ππ»ππ» thanks for the mention. That meant a lot to us and we are so glad to have met you and become friends.
