Japan is set to reopen the borders to tourism! After a few days of multiple reports and a shift in wording. Japan “WILL REOPEN” instead of “Japan is thinking of or considering reopening”, we have an air of confirmation but NOT an official announcement yet! We explore when we might hear an official announcement and look into which countries will be able to enter Japan when the borders do actually reopen!

Visa waivers are set to come back into effect but there still are questions that requite answers from the government of Japan! Hopefully we will get some very soon.

  1. I still have a valid multiple entry visa issued before the pandemic. Hopefully, I can still use it since it hasn't expired yet.

  2. Nathan!!! Finally good news!! Thank you for all the support and research you had been doing during this difficult time ☺️☺️ I can’t wait to visit Japan 🇯🇵

  3. Ok the title of the video and thumb nail are now official click bait and it's sad that it will be my last time here now. I'm really really angry how youtubers are doing this for views there is NOTHING OFFICIAL or confirmed and I know you say it in the video but it looses credibility when you try trick people with click bait titles and thumbnails. You were so good when the daily stats and info was given but since coming back from Japan you've lost your way with your content and in your own words it's not official or confirmed yet look at the title and thumbnail.

  4. What about tourism multiple visa which is acquired since 2018 and stil valid until 2023? Do I still have to apply a new one for November departure?

  5. In Australia we call it “piss in the pocket / pulling the legs “ 😢 Until the japan government officially announced so far just hear and say . No body could predict anything from Japan of what going on in theirs government. A very conservative culture , a bureaucratic system only damage japan but no one can’t change as it is the way the Japan live .

  6. Great video as always fellow Japan enthusiast!!

When/if the confirmation that we are all waiting for finally arrives…

I highly advise all foreigners traveling to Japan to please wear masks and follow their rules regardless if you see Japanese locals not wearing masks etc.

Let’s make the reopening just as enjoyable for all current and future travelers to Japan.

Remember, they will be watching our behavior rather closely…

I will be wearing my mask and following their rules!

The Japan reopening travel gods will finally bestow us foreigners with victory!!!!

  7. Im really excited. To go to Nepal. It took to long. Im not Japanese so not infinitly patient enough to wait for Japans arbitary decisions.

  8. What about individual tourists from other countries not included in the visa-free entry? Can they apply now for a japan visa without ERFS?

  9. Thank you Nathan 🙂👍👍🇺🇸🍻🍻 For the update 👍 We are sooooo Close 🙂🙂🙂🇺🇸🍻👍

  10. You are great I am coming back to Tokyo my partner lives in Tokyo last time I was there was October 2019 I hope to be back October 2022 .me and kaori will get married which is amazing brother you videos are very positive can I buy a positive T-shirt thank you

  11. Vera promising. Of course, cautious optimism is important, even AFTER the re-opening of the country. Because one thing that remains unknown is what will happen if there is a new surge in COVID cases? Of course, the situation is different from the past few years, as collective immunity has been developing significantly everywhere.
3:083:10 : almost gave me a heart attack! You’ve placed Switzerland (where I’m from) on the same line as Tunisia! I was afraid for a split second that our country wasn’t included when I didn’t see it below Sweden…!

  12. I have been living in Japan as an American for over 3 years now, so rode the closed border wave here which was quite nice (no tourists in 'tourist spots'). Though Tokyo specifically is crowded enough, would love for the world to simply open borders completely!

  13. Awesome videos indeed Nathan. One question though, I’m Brazilian living in Brazil but I have Italian citizenship, do you think this scenario will also be included in the ‘no visa requirements’ ? 🥢❤

  14. I had to reschedule My flight, im going february ❤️ i never missed one video you did, I would watch at work every saturday. You are THE BEST 🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢🥢

  15. I'm seriously afraid. Will it open only for the listed 70 countries? What about India and others? We still can't enter? The package tour thing is the main concern.

  16. For countries that require a Visa, like the Philippines, can we still use our 5 year visa issues back in 2019? Thank you

  17. I've got my fingers crossed! 🤞 rescheduled my September trip for November, so here's hoping it'll be a go! ありがとうこざいます。You have been such an amazing resource and such a positive voice over all this time.

  18. Please tell me this happens The most important thing is a tourist visa without a paper from my work because my country requires a prior visa
