Sapporo, Hokkaido in Japan is a special city. The people are exceptionally kind but what I really like is that they are very down-to-earth and real. They are the ideal blend of traditional Japan and the West. Maybe it has to do with the large open areas and space, or the harsh winters that create a closer community, but I have always felt there was something different about people who live in Hokkaido.
