Osaka castle was built by TOYOTOMI Hideyoshi, the Sengoku Daimyo that unified the nation of Japan in 16th century. Hideyoshi is a famous historic figure in Japan due to his dramatic success story; he was born as a peasant. The castle has been rebuilt twice, and the current one is the 3rd structure that has been completed in 1931. Inside of the castle is a museum that exhibits historical artifacts and the life of Hideyoshi. Osaka castle is the central landmark of the city.
大阪城（おおさかじょう）は天下統一（てんかとういつ）をした戦国大名（せんごくだいみょう）・豊臣秀吉（とよとみ ひでよし）によって建てられた16世紀（じゅうろくせいき）の城（しろ）です。秀吉（ひでよし）は農民（のうみん）から、日本のリーダーになった歴史（れきし）の有名人（ゆうめいじん）です。大阪城は、今までに2回、壊れました（こわれました）。今の大阪城は3代目（さんだいめ）の大阪城で、1931年に作られたものです。城の中は博物館（はくぶつかん）になっていて、城の歴史や秀吉の人生（じんせい）を知ることができます。大阪を象徴（しょうちょう）する観光地（かんこうち）です。
