Fukuoka is the home of tonkotsu ramen and chains like Ichiran. There's also a new shopping mall with a giant Gundam statue outside. Now that the Japanese government is considering removing visa and entry restrictions from October onwards, it makes it very likely that unrestricted travel to Japan will happen by November and December.

We as a family love Fukuoka. We 1st visited 12yrs ago n made many subsequent visits. Its a great place to visit, not at all dull. From here, one can make different train trips to Kitakyushu Saga, Kumamoto, Yufin, Beppu, Nagasaki. It offers all that bigger cities like Tokyo or Osaka offers but at a cheaper cost. Even if one doesn't travel around, there's lots to do in Fukuoka itself. Hakata n Tenjin area has lots of shopping, esp underground, food and shopping streets. Fukuoka is compact and easy to travel around.
But we now spend more time in Tokyo now as my son lives there.

My hotel is around here during my trip last month. There is a LYF hotel at Tenjin. I have visited the Funan branch in Singapore before 😉
The people from Fukuoka are very friendly and helpful, been there a couple of times, love it!

一風堂は福岡が発祥の地です。娘がまだ小学生だったので、糸島や太宰府､秋月などよくドライブしました。そう!空港近くて便利です。

私も数日前に博多宿泊して、博多駅にあるアサヒとキリンが日本で唯一共同経営してるビアステーションで🍺飲み放題しました
Went to Fukuoka about 8 years ago.There is this Yakitori Restaurant near Hakata train station. I went there for consecutive 5 nights. Love the yakitori there and their Suntory beer. The ramen there is almost as good as those in Osaka. The Japanese People there are super friendly and generous. They bought me beer and some other alcohol types of drinks. The sushi there also super nice. Love the cafe there as well. I stay at hilltop spa hotel and the hotel room is very big and spacious.
Modern and very clean. Good shopping centres , places of interest , and food.
Fukuoka holds a special meaning to me cus it was where I went in my maiden trip to japan. After which I went 3-4 times again cus I have friends there
The last time my team and I visited Fukuoka was last year when that BIG Typhoon hit and it ruined our filming plans! Thank you for sharing your insight in Fukuoka. We're planning to go there again to shoot in Autumn this year BEFORE inbound travel resumes so we're always on the look out for good content and places we haven't yet visited. You're amazing!
