Ipoh is known for having some incredibly delicious and tasty dishes. Many of these dishes have a Chinese influence to them, making Ipoh a top street food destination in Malaysia. We started our day at Foon Egg Tarts and watched the baking of their homemade egg tarts and traditional pastries, of course sampling a few while we were there.

An ultimate street food tour in Ipoh, Malaysia, must include the super spicy Malaysian curry mee. Spicy Malaysian curry mee can be found all over Malaysia, but there are a few different versions. The Ipoh version comes dry, extremely flavourful, but also very spicy! We enjoyed the intense flavour of this spicy Malaysian curry mee.

One of the popular foods to eat in Ipoh is nasi ganja, not exactly what it sounds like, this dish is just very addicting! The street food in Malaysia is always so delicious. After cooling off with the traditional Malaysian food of ais kacang and tasting the local meat floss biscuit, we finished off our ultimate street food tour in Ipoh, Malaysia, tasting the famous Ipoh bean sprout chicken rice.

The bean sprout chicken rice in Ipoh is special because of the fresh, local bean sprouts that they use. The bean sprout chicken rice in Ipoh truly is one of a kind.

We hope you enjoy our ultimate street food tour in Ipoh, Malaysia, tasting the deliciously spicy Malaysian curry mee and much milder bean sprout chicken rice. Stay tuned for our next Malaysian street food adventure!

  2. Another amazing video guys!!! Absolutely loved the egg tart, noodles and Nasi Kandar. Thanks a lot for sharing your delicious food adventures with us ❀️

  3. That bean sprout chicken rice doesn't look to be done properly. The good restaurants usually put the bean sprout and chicken on separate plates, they don't mix them all up like this.
Try chicken bean sprout at 'Lou Wong Chicken rice' in Jalan Yau Tet Shin, Taman Jubilee. You can choose between rice and the noodle. The bean sprout there is much better.

  4. Ah! Can't believe you guys missed the Village Park Nasi Lemak. If you guys happen to be back in Kuala Lumpur, pls don’t miss it.

  5. Me, born in Malaysia, brought up in Hong Kong, what a sin to watch those freshly baked egg tarts at late night in Sydney

  6. Regardless how flavorful the egg tarts were made by any bakery shops, need to eat it right away or within 1-2 hours. I don't found it tasty any more the longer I let it sit and wait. The other pastries still found for overnight I guess?? I would like my curry mee with shrimp, tofu, & fish cakes to go along with those pork. Nasi Ganga is similar to Nasi Lemak. The biscuit stuffed with Pork Sung, Lotus Paste, & Pandan is an ideal snack. They finally got their shaved ice of Ais Kachang had more varieties over Cendol. One thing Chris didn't mention with Bean Sprout Chicken Rice is the Rice itself cooked with stock that they used after they poached with the chicken. All the foods they had here are my favorites.

  7. Ipoh is famous for its creme caramel. Do try to find it. It is silky and heavenly Most established (old) coffeeshop has it

  11. Hey…thank you for answering my question about the Kokorecci in Turkey…now I have discovered you guys…how cool is that…Thats my dream as a Chef to tour the world and do exactly what you're doing. ✌❀🎼🎢🎢🎢

  12. Miss Ipoh! My last trip was soooo many years ago! It was just a pit stop on our way up to Cameron Highlands. I don't think that's condensed milk, it would have been overly sweet. Condensed milk is thicker i.e. condensed..lol. That should be evaporated milk which is not sweet. Ice cream should be corn or durian.

Ipoh's bean sprouts, hor fun and white coffee are fantastic….they use their spring water to grow the bean sprouts and make the hor fun I think.

  13. You guys are just amazing. Even myself as a Malaysian didnt explore in details. Enjoy yr stay here🫢😘

  14. Watching this makes me realize how many culinary corners are cut in North American food. It’s so special when ppl take time and care to make real food.

  15. You need to take a leaf out of Mark Wein's book of food tasting expressions. You need to find that loving feeling.
