Hello everyone,
In this video, I head to Hiroshima Prefecture to begin my 2-day biking challenge along the Shimanami Kaido bike route! The Shimanami Kaido is an 80km long bicycle route that stretches across 6 different islands starting in Onomichi, Hiroshima, and finishing in Imabari, Ehime.
The Shimanami Kaido is listed as one of the world’s most scenic bike routes, which I can definitely attest to.
Follow me on my journey across the Shimanami Kaido and see for yourself how beautiful this famous route is.

  10. Thanks for taking is along your trip! I’m aiming to do this bike route in a couple of years, so there’s still a bit of time to prepare ;). It seems you started out solo, which is also how I intend to take the trip and I’m super interested how you did it!
    – did you book your stopover hotel ahead of time, and how far ahead? If I’m not mistaken you stopped at Omishima?
    – how do you compare taking the trip solo (day 1) and being in a group (day 2)?

Thanks for any insights! Looking forward to the rest of your videos πŸ™‚

  11. Leah! can I ask you a question?
Once you rent a bike in Onomichi station after you finished cycle route at Ehime, you get back at Onomichi one more time to return bike?

And did you use any app to book a hotel?

btw thanks for sharing your experience to us!
