Everything YOU need to know before you go to Sydney Australia. Located on Australia’s southeastern coast, Sydney is Australia’s largest and oldest city with a population of 5.2M Sydneysiders. Sydney is considered one of the most diverse cities in the world, with more than 40% of the population originally hailing from outside Australia. While originally Sydney started life as a British prison colony, it’s now most well known for it’s amazing harbor, magnificent beaches, delicious cuisine, all wrapped up in a modern city with classic British roots, that remains distinctly Australian. All these things combined make Sydney one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations.

  1. 23:39 "The Bay Bridge" ??? What an unusual name… We should have called it "The Harbour Bridge" considering Sydney is a "harbour" city and not a "bay" city. We probably should have named it after the city of which it is in. The Sydney Harbour Bridge sounds better than "The Bay Bridge", doesn't it?

  2. Good review of Sydney mate , Hopefully next visit , is in summer , especially January when the Sydney festival is on

  3. Brilliant Chris. Loved the Sydney episode. I still haven't been to Tooronga Zoo I have to check that out and the China town! Food looks so good! Well done on video and thanks for shout out! Check out the Melbourne episode I did with Chris!

  4. Great review but I would change the title to "Central Sydney Travel". Area-wise, Sydney is one of the largest cities in the world with way more to see and do than what you've shown. It's known as "The city of Villages" for a good reason, there are dozens or major urban centres throughout the city, each with their own identity and charm. What you've shown is great for a short visit but if you have the time, there's so much more to see. I'm an ex-pat North American living in Sydney btw

  5. Ps my favourite food court in Sydney is underneath Woolworths near town hall it’s open Monday to Friday but has literally everything Thai, Malay, Japanese, Chinese for $10 for lunch 😉

  6. mate! this is super informative. Well produced content for travellors.

  7. The opal card used for all public transport around Sydney has a daily cap of 16.8 AUD and weekly cap of 50 AUD, so just used them and do not worry about the high price single trips.

  8. This is the first of your travel guides I have seen and was very impressed with your coverage of Sydney. I will be certainly watching you more in the future, please stop calling our Harbour Bridge the Bay Bridge …. it has never been known by that name….just for your information.

  9. Very well done. I have lived in Sydney nearly all my life. Two things you didn't mention: 1. Tipping – this is optional in Australia. Waiters etc are paid a good wage. They don't work for tips. When Australians travel overseas, it is a real pain to get a handle on tipping. 2. Tax: We have a GST (sales tax) imbedded in our prices. Food is exempt from GST. Cheers.

  10. a cool thing about the Australian Hotel – we are one of the only countries where we eat the animals on our coat of arms, so you can get kangaroo, emu, crocodile pizzas

  11. lol love harrys. if you love cars head out to warrick farm harrys cafe de wheels. most fridays sat nights. (end of the months) on at 6pm for a car show. 😉 tiger pie is awesome the other is hotdog de wheels. also eating a pie with a fork? you eat the peas gravy and mash with fork and then pie with hands. haha

  12. One important point in to be sun smart. Wear sunscreen even if you're there in winter or it's a cloudy day. Australian sun is extremely harsh compared to North American or European sun.

  13. Hi Chris. you are doing a fantastic job for travellers.. thank you… but sadly Melbourne is my town. Syd is too fast and flash for me… Cheers mate.. stay good

  14. Great work Chris, you covered a lot of ground in a short time. There are also many national parks and more beaches within 40 minutes of the CBD. I hope you enjoyed your time with us!
