January 1942, with the impending invasion of the Japanese, the order was given “Every man for himself”. The men of Lark Force were forced to retreat into the jungle of New Britain PNG. September 2014, I set out along with others & retraced Lark Force steps. Following our return, we commemorated the centenary of the battle of Bita Paka (WW1).
