That show always paints Asians in negative light to push their far left woke agenda's so I always take their consent w a grain of salt. Look at that mixed girl and the 2 lemons who thinks Asians got it easy they got them on knowing they won't agree w certain topics so it validate the argument in a certain direction🤫🤫🤫🤫
Wait the Hapa girl's mom wanted her to grow up as white? Gtfo seriously? Disgraceful as it gets. Guess it makes sense why so many Asian women that date/marry white dudes are self haters.
Investing in crypto now should be in every wise individuals list, in some months time you'll be ecstatic with the decision you made today.
I never understand people saying black and brown people and call people from Europe White and call people from Asia Asians except Indians🤔
To say all Asian Americans think the same would be like saying all European Americans think the same. Of course they don't. Each person comes from a place that has a unique history and culture. The Western view that everyone is just Pan-Asian is not a very accurate description or representation.
Why does flippno guys have it easier
It's a poor country in asia
Moments like these I’m glad the west is collapsing😂
Didn't know you were gatekeepers toward mixed people, but your mining for only the pro-yt dirt speaks all the volumes.
If there's one thing I think we can all agree on it's that actors and actresses are the last people anyone should ever look to for political/life advice.
I argue no two people think exactly the same never mind two a world or two apart.
Excellent topic as always 🏌️
I don't understand how anyone can say there is white supremacy in 21st century America with a straight face. What exactly is holding a non-white person back from achieving something based on race? There is no institutional racism that is holding people back based on your skin colour. There are no Jim Crow laws that still exist. And if you ask proponents of this type of thinking to provide one concrete example of how they are actively being discriminated, they are unable to.
Interesting discussion, but the differences arise from the different Asian cultures and not from race. You will find cultural differences amongst caucasians, Hispanics and Afro Americans as well.
💖
I'm gonna be honest I didn't really hear Asian stereotypes used against me growing up. I know about them but only hear them brought up ironically. And the only "Asian" jokes I hear now are like "+15 social credit" or "xue hua piao piao" or "du ma airfawkwan" and tbh I laugh at all of them.
I think times have changed for the most part.
I think yall missed the point about the "props for white supremacy." The point was that the white supremacy narrative tends to use the model minority myth to suggest that other minorities are not working hard etc etc and that's why they don't succeed. Conservatives tend to use Asian Americans as a way to say "hey looks at Asians, they're minorities and they succeeded, so it's not structural racism that's holding back process, other minorities are just lazy, etc etc."
Not only do we think different we look different. Koreans are like Vietnamese.
“Shout out to mom” Awww 🥰❤️
The two things that Asian Americans universally agree on is: 1) Elderly Asians should be respected and not beaten and 2) Meritocracy should be color blind.
No. Not all Asians think a like. We have a wide spectrum of different Asian mindsets.
Some are Conservative, some are Liberal, and some are in the Middle.
Some are fresh off the boat new to America. Some were born and raised in America.
Some are younger and more immature, while others are older and more wiser.
As a Hapa Asian i would say I think some these things. I am shocked that one of the hapas in the video said she wasn't offeneded partly by steorotype comments, the fact is they apply to us as much our full asian brethen.
no, I don't think all asian Americans think the same. thats like saying all people think the same if they're of rhe same ethnicity which is ridiculous. Then there would be no holocaust survivers. The would be no individuality. I think the title is misleading.
One thing I’ve noticed in general is that white people don’t have identity complexes and attachments to their origins. For example, they can identify themselves as Americans, Canadians, French, Australians, etc , in whatever country but in fact their origins could be Polish, Greeks, Russians, Scottish, Ukrainian, Spanish etc and etc and No One Cares …but for Asians who might be 3rd/4th generations overseas and don’t speak a word of Asian … there will always be that question
“No, where are you really from??” Doesn’t matter if you speak perfect English or French or whatever European languages if you’re living in Europe. It is what it. At least I know my roots.
I, as a born and raised Hong Kong person, am not offended by asian stereotypes not because they aren’t bad, but because we do it too. Ask any local Hong Kong person what they think about Indian men or Filipino women or black kids, I guarantee you a bunch of racist things are going come out of their mouth with no realization nor shame. Anyone who lived in HK know this
hi andrew and david bro, this is Saurav Lahiry. a new joiner from India. ur content is hilarious
I think you misinterpreted the Chinese guy when he said "culturally American". What he meant was freedom to express yourself and how growing up under free society shapes you is completely different experience compared to controlled society like China. If you Fungbros put more importance on a few thousand years of Chinese history over a few hundred years of US history including freedom and democracy, you are underestimating how you became who you are under this country with only few hundred years of history. You being able to express yourselves freely in this video is proof you are part of the American culture and heavily influenced by it even more than Chinese culture whether you like it or not.
Great content as usual. Currently assimilation or upward mobility largely involves meeting white societies expectations of how a good Asian should behave and aligning to their harmful stereotypes, the model minority, as well as white saviourism. Notice how the stereotypes for AW and AM conveniently benefit WMs. Notice also how Asian Americans who accept and pigeonhole themselves in such erroneous mentally scripted 'Asian' roles are likely to be successful (to an extent because of the bamboo ceiling of course) and rewarded by white society for it (and becomes a self-fulling prophecy) in the expense of their mental health and identity.
Assimilation or upward mobility for AW also tends to include AW denigrating AM and actually buying into the Western beliefs and stereotypes of AMs (subconsciously or not) and hence why many AW (not all of course) truly believe it's just a preference to exclusively date WM – because they themselves, whether they realise it or not, buy into these stereotypes (due to sociocultural factors) and don't think anything wrong in them (again not all but a significant proportion).
Therefore, I'm firmly against this kind of assimilation and discourage it because it's the root of all Asian American issues, since in essence, it is to aspire to whiteness, which many forget we are not, and to prop up the very pillars of white privilege that Black Lives Matters movement rally against. A solution would be to adopt the approach of African Americans (and even join them) who by and large integrate/accommodate together (not as individuals as assimilation entails) as a close knit community, and as a group into the dominant "white" society rather than assimilating hard individually (our strategy since the beginning), shunning our ethnic roots, identity, and culture (which is exactly what is mostly happening and what they want us to do since there's power in numbers) – and no accommodation doesn’t mean that one can’t work in white dominant spaces.
Going back to buying into Western beliefs, rhetoric, false narratives, and stereotypes which are always geared towards the inferiority of Asians (e.g., good at maths (but not good socially)), you can see how the Asian American male in the Jubilee vid is influenced by them in that he strongly believes that Americans have more freedom and democracy compared to in China. I used to belief that too until I spent a significant time in China and made an effort to explore counter narratives, facts and evidence and I could argue in many ways that it’s the reverse.
There's nothing more sad than seeing Asian Americans who are lost and desperately wanting to be seen and accepted as white (the dominant society).
You guys are much luckier, ppl who were raised by 1st Gen in the 60’s 70’s were screwed.
Asia is a big place. Asian Americans come from all over Asia, from all generations, from all political affiliations. It is to be expected they will be different from each other.
