72 Hours in Hokkaido | My DREAM JAPAN Summer Road Trip πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅



AT LAST MY DREAM IS FULFILLED AND I HAVE DONE A HOKKAIDO SUMMER ROAD TRIP!!!!

I’ve been to Hokkaido before for the snow festival a few years ago, and now I’m back in summer to see the beautiful flowers!! Hokkaido is Japan’s northernmost prefecture, and it’s absolutely MASSIVE. Seriously, we barely even touched a corner of it…I’ll have to come back a few more times πŸ™ˆ

Hokkaido is famous for its summer flower fields, especially lavender (though we missed it by a few weeks! but less crowds!), so it’s definitely a great place to add to your travel list if you want to get out of the Tokyo-Kyoto loop on your next visit!!!

I have a Japanese license, but you’re able to rent a car if you have an international driving permit too. Make sure you study the rules beforehand! But driving in Hokkaido is probably the easiest place I’ve driven in all of Japan! The roads here are wider, probably for snow accumulation in winter or something πŸ™ˆ

But even if you don’t drive, I would recommend taking a bus tour πŸ’ͺ You can get to some of these places by public transportation, but some (like the lake) you can’t get to by train 😣
