【Manpukuji Temple】is head temple of the Zen Obaku sect, which entered Japan in 1654. This temple has more Chinese appearance than other Buddhist temples in Japan.
Fucha Ryoji -Chinese style Zen meals course- are available. When you have an opportunity to visit there, you must try this cuisine!

-This explanation below is from Temple’s official website-
Kaipan, the Wooden Fish Board
Kaipan is shaped like a fish, which lives always with its eyes open. This is because it is the symbol of hard monastery training with short sleep. Additionally, the sphere-shaped object held in its mouth represents bon-no (all sorts of bad mental states that cloud one’s mind). Hitting the back of kaipan means letting bon-no get away from the stomach.

Welcome to this channel! I am Yuki from Kyoto, Japan.
I will be sharing short videos of the city every day except for Sundays.
My friend who is a tour guide here, Tomoko will shoot her favorite spots on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Sometimes I just shoot videos on my way to somewhere, so those videos might not be showing the “bling-bling” typical Kyoto, and the weather is always unpredictable. But you can see the real everyday Kyoto.

No matter where you are, just sit back and enjoy!

Use this channel
◆as the reference before traveling to Kyoto.
◆as the way to escape from the reality for a while.
◆to feel like you are in Kyoto.

I also have another channel TD KYOTO to introduce the craftsmanship in Japan.
Check that out, too!
