Instagram has had a LOT of changes recently, and I’ve noticed a lot of my friends and acquaintences moving over to share their work on Vero. And I don’t blame them. Instagram isn’t the place it used to be for photographers any more. So I thought maybe I should give it a go as well. Over the next 30 days, I’ll be trying Vero out for real, posting once a day, every single day
and seeing whether or it’s worth moving to or whether it’s just a waste of time.

    I guess no one is aware that Instagram had to pay a fine in Ireland for collecting children's data.

    The best decision, give yourself a break from the app. These last two years IG has been a headache. Vero so far is impressing me, give it a try.

    Vero only has other photographers. Instagram has potential customers, because that's what 'normal' people use. Also, Vero is said to be going for a monthly subscription plan when out of Beta. I'm pretty sure not a lot of people that I know of, at least, are not willing to pay for that. I do love the engagement I'm getting on Vero compared to Instagram, but I'm not seeing it being a long-term solution to our Instagram problems.

    Nope, I am on Clickasanp and don't have the time to add another social media account. But thank you for the heads up. I have seen a lot of others headed that way.

    I think the issue is you want audience size – while having the platforms bringing those people to you. That is incompatible with engaged passionate audience. If you want mass audience, then their engagement will be on average limited. If you want personal – direct human contact with passionate people – that won't be scalable.

    Flickr and Photog Twitter (after you ban any NFT keywords) are actually amazing. DeviantArt and Behance are very fun and gave me a breath of fresh air creatively since the photography there isn't so instagramish.

    Vero just screams influencer pushed. It's all about the name and it's made around the people, the personalities not the actual work. Remember – you are not important, your work and the impact of your work is. Vero lacks that humility from what I've seen.
