There are only 30 taxis on the island because that is what's imposed by local laws. They don't want to fill the island with taxis so as to protect the island vibe /feeling. This has been an issue for decades… they want people to use the buses (which are more than fine). Believe me there were tons of business people who would have poured more taxis on the island if that was allowed… years ago now. So don't waist your time trying to start a taxi business there π
Thanks for the tip, going there in 2-3 weeks and now doing some researches lol
GUYS I HAVE ONE TIP AS A PERSON WHO LIVES IN MYKONOS PERMANENTLY , DONT VISIT THE ISLAND DURING THE WINTER SEASON (NOVEMBER -MARCH) I'm saying that because the island is really lonely and all the bars and shops are closed and to be honest it's really depressing here during winter , visit us during the summer season , we all love seeing people after the depressed months of winter ππ
Amazing travel guide for Mykonos. I have visited it and it is gorgeous island ποΈ
proud mykonian
Arrived Mykonos yesterday and this info is very useful, thank you. seen the high end eating places and the healthy option near ornos bus stop and will def go for brunch. Pity the buses are not that frequent. Weathers been hot like 27C – def pricy in comparison to santorini where Iβve just come from
Don't go to the restaurants you'll get rip off, force and intimidated into paying a high bill for little food
Another Stolen Turkish Island
Wow! I hope you could one day visit South Korea too! It's a country of interest by many more people nowadays. They have lots of UNESCO heritages such as the palace during the times of Chosun. And, recently, the Blue house is now opened to the public and it's becoming an exciting visit for many people. The blue house was never open to the public before until this May where the New president of South Korea decided to move his Presidential office.
Whoever reads this just Make sure if you're going to mykanos, just make sure you avoid DK Oyster Bar like the plague.
We want to go to Cambodia can you go there and do a travel blog like you did in Vietnam
I was speaking to a couple of Greek guys about toilets recently (as you do) and they said the toilet paper in the bin habit never really had anything to do with the pipes but because most of the sewage especially on the islands went into septic tanks and the tanks couldn't cope with paper and they were hard to empty. However, they said on mainland Greece loads of Greeks actually do sometimes put paper down the toilet and one of them said even he does it at his grandparents' house on one of the islands. The main reason they gave was that the problems had been deliberately exaggerated by businesses and governments who couldn't be bothered with maintenance, less use of septic tanks but mostly because modern toilet paper is designed to dissolve really quickly and even septic tanks will dissolve it. The days of toilet paper getting into a big wet clump in pipes is not really a thing nowadays unless you squeeze your toilet paper in your fist after you've used it (!) but the signs and the habits still persist. I don't know, I've never been to Greece. I'm just passing on what some Greeks told me.
For being in one of the worldβs most known βhot spotβ that so many want to be and visit; these prices are sooooo reasonable! An average hotel in NJ or NYC would be 3x more plus absolutely nothing nice to offer; from scenery to service!
What about Israel welcome to Jerusalem
Just realised you we are staying in the same hotel you stayed in. Handy to know about the shuttle bus into town. Nice video and really informative.
I just returned from Mykonos. I want to help people who are considering to visit this place with a child. Totally not recommend it. There is no activity for a child and Mykonos town is super busy and a chaos. If you have a child go in another place but not Mykonos. Also be ready to spend a lot of money!!
I am going in July. Staying in Kanalia which is a bit west of were you stayed. Do you recommend taking the bus into Mykonos town or renting a four wheeler or vespa? I plan to spend the entire day in Mykonos town exploring and ending the night at 180 sky bar.
Was so much cheaper before the euro
Great vid. Iβm traveling to Mykinos and island hoping to paros, antiparos, los & Santorini for few wks. Weβll have a rental car. Wud you recommend taking it with us on the ferries to each island? Thanks
I can only dream about it..its so so expensive..
Use cash ! Businesses pay for each transaction when paying with a card and small amounts which have a minimum charge leave them making next to nothing.
Calling ahead for reservations is no good for us coming from Canada where our cell phone charge will be $17 per day roaming charge. We donβt use our cell phone outside of the USA and Canada. But thx for letting us know, good job we are on a cruise and so not need meals on shore. Re. the toilets, how awful, just like Mexico. I kept forgetting there to not put paper down the loo. Plus the loos were stinky because the paper was in bins. good to know though. We will only be there a day in May on our cruise. The prices sound really high for food. Makes cruising a good choice. I though Greece was supposed to be cheap.
Greece is so amazing and beautiful! And, I LOVE the mythological connections!!
I love a good California sushi roll but gotta go local! The Greeks do actually love pasta too (makaronia in Greek)…it's not just an Italian thing!
What were the most popular MyKonos restaurants at night that require a rez? Thank you π
I'm interested in the taxi joint venture.. π€
Very informative thanks for sharing
Mykonos is such an amazing island π₯°π¬π·
For food and/or drinks try: Black Bull & Il Forno di Gerasimo!!!
You had to add an Italian food? This is Greece. Nothing is Italian here…especially the food
I saw it somewhere MYKONOS Charges $600 something for crab legs and couple mojito drinks??? What the HELL! ππππππ
