  1. So many potential travellers like myself is a little disappointed with the lack of policy of the Japanese government in creating a pathway to reopen. My family and I have been very patient but our patience has lead to cancelling our trip to Japan in September, but as positive note we have decided to travel to Philippines and Korea. This is where we will spend our hard earned cash and enjoy what they have to offer. Japan will come around another time and perhaps sooner than expected. Thank you Nathan 🙏 for your updates over the past months.

  2. Hi Nathan. Thank you for all your hard work! I'm now on the point of giving up on Japan and going somewhere else. I think that if we had imposed the same restrictions bon Japanese travellers, then that might have made a difference to their reopening to us. Joan Nagase

  3. Other G9 countries should apply The same rigid travel restrictions to the japanese by suspending their visa waiver. It makes no sense japan nationals can freely visit other countries,

Those non sense travel regulations reminds me of those at the start of the pandemic when only foreigners, were asked to do a pcr test to come back to Japan while Japanese taking the same flight could come back without just fine.

According to officials only foreign travelers could bring virus to japan.

the Japanese yen value is decreasing cause nobody can visit Japan to spend it.

floppy 💾 is still used in Japan administrations. so We should not expect quick update from them….

Go to Korea or Philippines 🇵🇭

  4. Great stream as always fellow Japan enthusiast!!

What happens when a Japanese citizen traveling in the US or in Europe gets covid?

I wonder if there is a Japanese speaking doctor in that clinic that can take care of said Japanese citizen?

Funny how that’s the ‘excuse’ for Japan requiring a ‘sponsor’ if a foreigner gets infected with covid in Japan.

    Sighs.

It’s more smoke and mirrors because nothing has really changed.

It’s meant to throttle as many foreign tourists as possible from even wanting to go to Japan all in the while appearing to ‘reopen’ to everyone else.

Remember I told you about Honne/Tatamae in Japanese culture…

Tatamae(public face)… we are reopening to individual tourists via package tours.

Honne(private face)… the actual details that prohibit most of us from entering.

Let’s see when/if that visa free waiver step arrives in a few months.

That will in my opinion be a little more telling.

  5. Have given up on our travel to Japan. Had to cancel our October Flight and decided to go to Singapore instead. Maybe next year will be the best time to go to Japan.

  6. We use air miles and this is ridiculous!!! Japanese people travel freely and we get screwed!!! We should bombared the tweeter of those guys!

  7. I don't care about getting a visa, I just want them to drop the agency requirement. I have already arranged everything (can cancel hotels at any time), but I think I am done with Japan. I am going to divert my budget and find another destination. What should have become a great experience has become a huge disappointment and money trap due to bureaucracy and incompetence. We're going to visit another country and let the Japan dream slide.

  8. do you think that they could they mean domestic flights not international flights? i dont think the travel agencies that did the guided tours booked peoples international flights

  9. The thing is why they want to get you a visa because lately there are alot of illegal workers in japan without visa. Alot of people sneaking in without being legaly there

  10. Definitely No One would be Interested with that Manner of Cumbersome process, as You said They look traveler’s as Piece Of Lemon,or collar chained Travel

  11. Sadly, we canceled our Japan trip today, originally scheduled for the last two weeks of October. The travel agents said that they need to book ALL flights and hotel accommodations, so we could NOT use the reservations that we had done many months ago. We will try again for next April, hopefully without the need for a travel agent and a travel visa. Thanks for your updates and attempts to communicate to the Japanese government the desires of potential foreign tourists!

  12. Japan will take a long time to open up fully cause a lot of people there hate foreigners, they think they are dirty, rude, have bad manners and don't trust them to obey the rules.

  13. Hello good afternoon,
I already told you but i bought with a friend travel + stay to tokyo at the beginning of november through edreams. and I can't cancel, I don't have a refund.

what do you suggest i do?
what are the first steps to take?
    thanks for the update man!
