Emiko and I are visiting a few places in Nagasaki Prefecture this weekend: Minami-shimabara, Obama Onsen and Unzen. For this livestream I’ll take an early (a very early!) morning stroll around the town of Obama Onsen. None of the shops will be open and the streets will likely be empty – BUT it won’t be scorching hot – so this seems to be the best time to do this. Hope you can join me!

FAQ

Who are you?
Nick Szasz, a Canadian who has lived in Japan for about 35 years. Thirty-one years in Fukuoka, three in Tokyo and one in Osaka. I’m the founder and publisher of Fukuoka Now magazine, a monthly printed bilingual magazine about Fukuoka and Kyushu for international residents and visitors from overseas. Fukuoka Now magazine: https://issuu.com/fukuokanow and Fukuoka Now website https://www.fukuoka-now.com/ – I live in Itoshima – and post about that here: http://www.itoshima-now.com/

Why are you doing this?
I love Kyushu, walking, and cameras, so this seemed like a perfect combination and fun. I hope that even in this small way, I can show off and connect Kyushu to the world. Sit back, relax, and let me do the walking and talking.

Support appreciated!
Since January 1, 2021 I’ve posted 58 episodes. I’d like to continue but it takes time, so if you can afford to support this please visit my Patreon page https://www.patreon.com/kyushulive and help me to keep this going. Super chats and Super stickers appreciated too!

I reply to all the comments, so leave one and let me know what you like or don’t. Please “like” the videos, as that makes them appear elsewhere on YouTube and “ring” the bell to get notified of upcoming episodes.

Kyushu Liveでの計画は?
まだまだ手探り状態だけど、福岡市内を撮ったら九州一円に広げていきたいと思っている。PATREON(ファンがクリエイターを直接支援できるサービス)でも登録しているので応援してね!https://www.patreon.com/kyushulive

どのように関われる?

  1. Good morning! Thanks to everyone who joined me on the walk – and special thanks to Marianne F and Creative Content for the generous SuperChats – I'll be sure to treat Emiko to something sweet in Unzen – and hope to see you and others tomorrow – July 26, 7am in Unzen for more onsen scenery!

  2. Great show, Nick. Thanks for another interesting view of Japan. Your "live" tours provide a perspective on life in Japan not usually available. Yes, the gimbal you used today didn't seem to provide the stability of the one you used for previous programs. Still fine, though, and the quality of the video you get with that iPhone is stunning. Thanks for the effort, especially under such challenging conditions!

  3. I just found your channel. Love it! I can't wait to visit Fukuoka. Maybe we can travel there soon … I hope I can see the cherry blossoms there next spring.
