  1. Thank you Jane, i really enjoyed that wee walk around the centre, that baby shop was beautiful, my daughter is 30 now but back in the day it was dresses like the one you picked up that i used to dress her in, & like you my fav food is chinese, i am partial to a nice bakers/ coffee shop too 😉…oh dear all the things i need to stay away from 🙄…thanks again for all the info, its appreciated 😀

  2. I love Blackpool whole heartedly – but even as someone in me early 30s I can't jump on this whole cosmopolitan hub vibe of shopping centres and redeveloped areas with fancy shops etc, its destroying beautiful historic buildings and replacing them with flat pack ikea style cladding everywere, it's very Orwellian and abit depressing. Wishing you a happy weekend x

  3. I watched that dance programme on iplayer last night too. Very good! There was a great show on Channel 4 too yesterday called Britain by Beach. Last night was the Lancashire coast. Loads about Blackpool and Lytham. It was filmed when the painting competion was being filmed by the Pleasure Beach that you stumbled across! Well worth a watch

  4. Kris and I watched this together and we have decided that we need to visit the muffin establishment!
Good to see the much needed slum clearance in King Street and to hear that similar will take place in Cookson Street. Nothing there has architectural significance or enhances the resort experience. I hope that stretches of Central Drive will also have slum clearance as the owners do not have the resources to make the massive investment required to make the properties fit for the present times.
Political correctness sometimes prevents run down areas being called slums but to solve a problem we have to be able to be pragmatic for the good of the wider picture.
Thanks for this Vlog Jane. Best wishes from Eryk and Kris.
Missed Bats lately but life is intervening so watching on replay.

  5. Great video again. I would love to own the building that Roberts Oyster bar is in and convert the upper floor into a flat and live in it.

  6. 1st of all lady jane, thank you for filming that punk rocker with black flag patch on the back of his long sleeve shirt, i do love those cakes, at that sweet shop, to tell you the truth, 1 of those little cakes looks like the romanian savarine, whitch i love, the botom and top sponge it has rum in it, imitation rum, not the real one, please folks do not eat any indian food, my wife almost died, because of their hot spicy food, and in london the owner of an indian restaurant, is a drug dealer, who sells drugs, like cocaine, etc, some chaps from other city went to do an review of some indian food, and the staff and manager told them if they wanna buy drugs while they eat there, me and my family ever since that experience we stay away from indian restaurants and food, and yes lady jane i agree with you asian food is way better than indian, well it's 9 am here in the states…….everybody's asleep including kitty cat,……marius(punk rules).

  7. Hi there love the video good work like always very interesting to see the new shops and Indian food as well I do like Indian food will definitely give this a try whenever I get back there but brilliant work on the video

  8. I used to love taking friends to the Mandarin. But the last time I went, I had to endure the awkwardness of their new Service Charge policy. This payment experience tarnished what was otherwise an excellent meal… so I have not been back since. (I would prefer to just leave a tip at the end)

  9. Hi Jane, great video. You went past our favourite Italian La Fontana. We were there on Saturday and it was fantastic. Great food as always and wonderful, friendly staff who can't do enough for you. My husband mentioned when we arrived that we were there for my birthday and when my pudding arrived they had put a candle in it and sang happy birthday, which they did.without being asked. It is something that I'll never forget especially as my pudding was a sorbet! We highly recommend going to La Fontana. We had a great day, tried the Hole in the Wand which was fun and after our meal spent the rest of the evening in Russ Brown's House of Secrets and had a great time. We did try to go through the lights but the traffic was rather heavy so will try again another time. Take care

  10. Thank you for the updates. As You mentioned when residential buildings between Cookson street and Grosvenor street will be demolished?

  11. Hey Jane the muffin cafe too expensive 5 pounds and 4 pound for a sandwich and a bun ridiculous then a coffee too well over 10 pounds ridiculous

  12. It’s a shame they removed the railings for the DWP building, but otherwise they seem to have cracked on well with the demolition, and the old Hop Inn is looking really good. I’m pleased to see the new builds about, which alongside the preservation and renovation of some of the older buildings works well in my opinion, and improves the overall image of Blackpool.
