Agree with you on all the ports. Barcelona is my ultimate favorite! But need to add Naples to the negative port as it’s so dirty and smelly that it’s difficult to enjoy the beautiful architecture. I typically take a boat to Capri as it’s more enjoyable for us.
St Martin is our stay on the ship port. (Have you been to Bonaire or Curaçao, we liked both of those more than St. Martin.)
I'm from the Bahamas and there have been NO kidnapping and Murders of Tourists and Guest! There is crime but they will not physically harm any tourists or guest.
Ya indeed St. Maarten is just awesome….
Nassau Bahamas has a wonderful People-to-People program that is complimentary. A year round program by the Bahamian Ministry of Tourism, a local gives you a private tour of the Island based on your interests. You have not truly seen Nassau until you experience it with a local.
I enjoyed St Barts but did not like Amber Cove, Dominican Republic. We did this fun adventure called “27 waterfalls” but we had to leave the ‘fake’ port as it could be called, and venture beyond the security gates of Amber Cove, which was built and owned by Carnival Corp. we visited on Holland America. Once leaving the safety of the port, you’re in some pretty sketchy, impoverished territory and YouTube is littered with warning videos of Dominican Republic. If your ship goes to Amber cove, stay in the Cove or stay on the ship!!
Me and my wife love St. Martin , we always ended up at Orient Bay
I loved Genoa Italy since it was an easy walk to the train and from there to the Cinque Terre which was fantastic.
Worse Port is Barbados, Porto Rico, Bahamas and St Martin.
I love your channel. You are very helpful. You have a great personality. And one of the things I really like – is you show the locations with a short b-roll or video clip.
Another port that is quite bad, actually really bad is Falmouth Jamaica. Stay on board there! Good tip about the taxis. One of the places you have to be very careful with taxi is Naples Italy… even for me that I speak Italian they try to get us.
Thank you for the video! Could you make this into a regular series?
One of our favourites was Cadiz Spain. Architecture, astounding gardens, Ocean on three sides, Roman ruins….was a stop on an NCL trans-Atlantic. Didn't know anything about it so it was a great surprise. Just walked all day. You dock right in the port too so you are right there.
Fortaleza and Natal, Brazil, are quite dirty and not too safe. They are fuel stops for the cruise lines. The organized tours by the ships are the best way to go.
My two favourite ports are Sydney, Australia and Isle of Pines, New Caledonia! Sydney is full of culture, beautiful spots, awesome sights, and great shopping. Plus the ship sails straight into the city and you can walk two minutes and you are in the CBD. The Isle of Pines is absolutely beautiful! I think that it is so much nicer than most Caribbean ports. The snorkelling is amazing and the nature is incredible!
Loved Oslo (Norway) – docked downtown – a fort outside our balcony – Viking museum was terrific – two unexpected events (1) international cigarette boat championship, best location was onboard (2) migration of jellyfish, it went on for over an hour when leaving port!
I stayed in the Port of Civitavecchia and loved it
My great grandmother was from Malta, it was amazing sailing into Valletta a few years ago
I really loved Kotor in Montenegro, Europe. It starts by sailing in the bay with breathtaking views. I do regret having only a small amount of time but the 3,5 hrs i could spend there where amazing. I visited the old town with its building structures from the 17th century. Loved the atmosphere while drinking something on a terrace. With more time i would climb the hill to an old fortress.
Nassau has never been a problem for me. There is probably some crime but I never felt unsafe there. I love the Caribbean, but anywhere there is lots of poverty and lots of tourists… there will be some crime. I love to travel and explore, and for the price (and more fun), I find I am in 3rd world countries more often than not. I've only been pickpocketed once in over 30 years of travel (and that was my own fault ha ha) 😎
We love San Juan and Barbados, St Martin is another favorite. Any ports in Jamaica would be where we stay onboard.
I do have to say that I was there very recently and there were a lot of things closed partly because of the coronavirus and partly because of the hurricane even the hard rock Café was closed
I’m OK with the most part one port I avoid is Lamont Costa Rica very sketchy and I would not go there unless they were on a tour
As a travel agency owner I would agree with your assessment of Nassau. It’s such a terribly dangerous place. I agree as well with the St Marteen assessment it’s a wonderful place with beautiful, wonderful and friendly people !! Lastly I would add Aruba to the wonderful list !
Greenock Scotland is not a good port nothing to do in Greenock and it’s quite a distance from Glasgow.
Miami is a top port’
Saint Martin is my favorite too, such a wide range of things to do. Highly recommend the 12-meter racing.
Hi Guy's, LOVE your shows, my favorite place is St.Thomas the people are so very friendly and the shopping is absolutly fabulous. PLEASE keep up your GOOD WORK.
For me nassau was safe but for sure both times I went there were really pushy people. I dislike sales pitches in general and don't like telling people no so for my next Bahamian cruise I will probably just pre-book an excursion
100% Agree with you on Nassau. We always stay on board the ship too-that's our Spa/Rain Forrest Room day 😊 (we cruise on DCL-not sure if other lines have a Rain Forrest Room equivalent).
Thanks for your help I am cruising with hubby on carnival on Jun 27 I appreciate the advice I will not be getting off Nassau the other is Carnival private island that should be okay I was only going to buy stuff for Friends now I not thanks The Acevedo’s fromNYC
Didn't care for Mazatlan Mexico, armed military as you pull up to the pier. Scary.
Just got back from a Royal Caribbean cruise that had Roatan as port of call. We booked a Snuba excursion (on our own) about 20 minutes from the ship and felt 100 % safe. We did Costa Maya, Conzumel , Roatan and Bahamas and our favorite was Roatan, Honduras. We loved how lively it felt when we arrived, how warm and inviting people were. The views from mountain tops were breath taking. I think you may be confused with mainland Honduras, the island of Roatan is almost its own "country".
I love watching your videos, but this is the first time I've seen this one…and I have to say I want to know how David lost weight…he has such a chubby little face in this video, and now he's quite thin??!!
