One of things that surprised me the most when I first came to Japan was just how much more convenient Japanese convenience stores are than American convenience stores are. They have become such an important part of my life in Japan. I’m pretty sure I visit a conbini (konbini) every single day, whether to buy a cheap bento box, use the atm, or get some yummy Japanese snacks. Best way to eat on a budget. Also, despite the low price, convenience store food tastes pretty good. I especially love the fried chicken they sell!

Also unlike their American counterpart, conbini are a great place to get a cheap little meal on the go. I especially love Ministop because the selection is amazing and they have some of the best soft serve ice cream I’ve had in Japan for a cheap price.

  1. I don't think I've ever been to a Mini-Stop! We had a Sunkus which changed into Familymart, so I'm surrounded by the main chains. Cool video! I love seeing a walkaround inside the store!

  2. Thanks for another fun video to watch 🙂 I loved especially the transition at the end where the video went with the food into your mouth! 🙂

  3. Great video! how are you getting permission to film inside these businesses? Do you give them a card? is your card in English or Japanese?
