A lush green urban park centered around the ruins of Osaka Castle, a nationally designated special historic site. Opened as Otemae Park in 1924. The five-story Osaka Castle tower, which stands in the main enclosure in the center of the park, has a history museum inside. The Osaka City Museum is also located near the park. Nishinomaru Garden is crowded with cherry blossom viewing in spring. The 13 old buildings in the park, such as the Otemon Gate, Sengan Yagura, and Homura Shozo, are nationally designated Important Cultural Properties. In addition to the outdoor music facilities Osaka Castle Concert Hall and Osaka Castle Hall, there are sports facilities such as a baseball field, an archery range, and a monastery. The Osaka Castle Gozabune in the inner moat, where you can see the stone walls up close, is also popular.

国指定特別史跡の大坂城跡を中心として整備された緑豊かな都市公園。大正13年(1924)に大手前公園として開園。園内中央の本丸に立つ外観5層の大阪城天守閣は、内部が歴史博物館となっている。公園の近くには大阪市立博物館も。西の丸庭園は春には花見で賑わう。園内にある大手門や千貫櫓、焔硝蔵などの古建造物13棟は国指定重要文化財。また、野外音楽施設の大阪城音楽堂や大阪城ホールのほか、野球場、弓道場、修道館などのスポーツ施設も揃っている。石垣を間近に眺めることができる内濠の大阪城御座船も人気だ。
