    American subway was built in 1950s so I think it is really understandable that American subway is kinda crappy. Just hope Chinese government won't take the same path as the American government did, not maintaining the infrastructure at all.

    You can give NY metro another chance, compare train speed and passenger comfort & safety. Maybe NYM is super fast so no need to stay on it too long and pick a central station or near Wall Street station that should look better. Chinese representative can be Guangzhou or Shenzhen comparable modern city. Don’t use Chengdu, not a fair fight for NYM. I live in LA, never take metro in NY and never being to these Chinese cities, hope I’m close.

    Well.. New York, USA is a 100 year old city with very old facilities. The city gov"t is repairing/renovating everything at a slow phase.

    My fellow foreigner in China, this is the first time I'm watching your channel. Now China has a lot to offer to the world: security, friendliness, concern, generosity, titanic infrastructure projects and many other things but… How many times you found yourself cursing China because of the never-ending bureaucracy, arbitrary changing regulations towards foreigners, the lack of security measures on the road or when performing physical works, the improvised "fixed with tape" solutions, the unskilled, untrained workforce doing jobs that require certain knowledge, the animosity of local men when they see you with a Chinese woman, the lack of sense of surrounding-space hygiene, a bunch of times I boarded passenger ships on which the seats were saloon chairs, free to slide. The industrial revolution, mechanization and automation of small tasks hasn't yet happened, they still seem to prefer depending on human labor and archaic handcrafting manufacture; and overall they keep a feudal mindset, the clan and its ties to the land, intermarriage as a form of social progress etc.

    Living in China is not a bed of roses, all the mentioned things are as Chinese as it gets and I think it's good to give arguments in favor of a balanced perspective.
