Japanese Supermarket Food Haul! Yes, it’s time to do a weekly food shop at a Japanese Supermarket, although I hope it’ll last more than a week!

I set myself a budget of 3,000 Yen (about 26 USD) to buy some food to keep me going at my Workaway in terms of cooking proper meals rather than eating out. How does Supermarket food in Japan compare to Japanese Convenience stores, ie Family Mart, Lawson & 7/11?

You can check out my Japanese Conbini Videos in the Playlists below where I challenged myself to survive on 1000 Yen a day at regular Convenience Stores and 1000 Yen a week at Lawson 100 (Japanese 100 Yen store)

FOOD HAUL! ARGH!

  1. Yep, Life in Japan isn't always crazy and exciting! It's time to buy some food at a local supermarket…can I survive on 3000¥ a week?

  2. You need to find a Lidl or Aldi Dude…lol I know that OK Supermarket, Ozeki Supermarket and Y’s Mart are cheap, not sure if there are any in Hiroshima though?

  3. Interesting video! I like food hauls especially when they are filmed in other countries. I also liked how you tried to stick to a budget, it's interesting to see what you can get with a specific budget and it seems like you were able to get all the essentials. Absolutely love soba noodles, so delicious. I just wish that the cost of fruits weren't so expensive in Japan. Looking forward to the unboxing video.

  4. Great video mate. When I was in Japan, I used to circulate the department store food halls and eat all the free and delicious samples!! hah.

  5. Hi Brother. You gave me a lot to think about in this video. When i go shopping in the States I have no budget at all. I buy whatever they hell i want. When I move to Spain my buying habits are going to have to change so I don't go broke after a few months. Thanks for the reality check . Until next time !!!

  6. Visiting Tokyo in Feb for the marathon, a simple video like this is so helpful for me. Keep up the good work First World Traveller

  7. Every flipping time I watch your vids, I realize how I much I miss Bri'ish TV. The accent mate lol.

  8. Help! I need to know if these supermarket prices in Hiroshima is around the same in Tokyo? Coz i'm moving to Tokyo next week and will be staying for 2 years. I'm currently binge watching your videos to help me 😁
