  1. I've flown in the DC8 since I was a year old, and one thing I'll always remember is that startup sound it used to make.  That unmistakeable whwhuurrrr was awesome.  Once they introduced the fan engines, that disappeared.  I was so bummed.  However, I also discovered on the newer planes that the takeoff and landing was noticeably quieter.  I believe it also flew faster, but I'm not totally sure.  I wonder if there's an audio book available about the history of the DC8.  I'm blind, and I'd love to read more about this airplane, and I really hope I can fly in one again.  It's been almost 6 years since I've flown, and I miss it.  Unfortunately, I can't work anymore because of my Trigeminal Neuralgia, but I'm saving money, so I can travel sometime soon..  Do you know of any airlines that fly from Atlanta, Georgia to Pitsburgh, Pensylvania?  There's a women's monastery about an hour's drive north of there I'd like to visit again, and I'd really love to fly in a DC8, and I'd like to know how much that would cost.  Any information would be much appreciated.  Thank you very much.  Heather Stubbs
