Did you know that there is a frog temple in Japan? Just an hour from Fukuoka city is a charming place that is home to over 5,000 frog statues big and small. It’s a fun place to visit and enjoy all of the smiling faces. In the summer, there is an added bonus, a wind chime festival!

Stroll around the grounds beneath hundreds of fluttering, rainbow-colored chimes. The sound of the chimes is said to make you feel cooler which is why they are a symbolic part of Japan’s summer.

Nyoirinji (also called Kaerudera) is the perfect place to spend an afternoon out of the sun and take in the charm of one of the area’s hidden gems!
