In this video we attempt to reach the summit of Mt Hood. This is Oregon’s tallest peak at 11,249 feet. It is known worldwide and next to the big city of Portland, so it gets a lot of traffic. Because of that it has a lot of injuries, rescues, and deaths. This mountain should be climbed with caution.
Here is the uncut footage from this climb. I upload uncut versions of climbs available to members that support the channel.

Superb quality as always. Your videos are a great resource. Excited to see you attempt Jefferson!
Amazing work Matt…gripping and beautiful as always. The music was spot-on. 👏👏 to the composer.
Wonderful work! Thank you for sharing your stories!
nice! Gotta shoot a video of Jefferson climb!
Loved it. That’s something I couldn’t do. Well I could if I had to, but I definitely don’t want to 😂
You’re video was good enough. Beautiful.
awesome, i miss Oregon
I'm glad people like you climb to the summit – so people like me can watch! It's something I'm never going to do – so thank you for the lovely sunrise over the icy snow.
if you have extra batteries for the camera next time, keep them inside your jacket, the body heat will make them keep their charge better. you can also briefly bring back to life batteries that succumbed to the cold that way
Wow, what an amazing view from up top! Thank you for sharing your experience and not getting psyched by that other climber's fall. 👍 I look forward to your Jefferson climb. Cheers!
Do you think the climb up and down would have been easier if you took two ice axes? I see a lot of people climbing with two, and I'm just wondering if you climb it again would you take a second with you?
Nicely done!
Matt, another excellent video. Cheers, Mate.
Sweet video Matt nice summit congrats on that. Gonna try for a summit too once i get a bit more experience behind me.
I always appreciate your very well done videos. Nice job on the Hood summit, I skinned up Hood early July this year, it was a lot of fun but I’d like to do Hood again in the winter when the conditions are a little more extreme.
Love that voice.. so soothing while learning. Great one Matt!
Really like your cautious preparation!
Awesome video Matt, great climb!!!!

Hey Matt! 👋 This is such a beautiful view. It's so gorgeous!
Great work Matt, This video was very well put together! It seemed like a good idea to bail the first time. Glad you got another opportunity! I really enjoyed this summit. Mt hood is such an incredible mountain. Excited to see your Jefferson Summit!
Congrats on your summit, loved that orange snow at sunrise.😀
Congratulations on your accomplishment, glad you had a safe climb and that the injured climber is ok.
Which side of the ice axe do you use for the self arrest?
Best video of Mt Hood to date. Exceptional camera work, great narration as usual and complimentary music track! Great job Matt!
Congratulations on your accomplishment, Matt. This one was fairly scary but somehow I managed to watch without blinders. Spectacular views up there. Nice background music too. Anything on a name for the new arrival?
