I mean, sort of. Not sure about the absolute madness that is a tv in the petrol pump…
Before the challenge of paying for fuel using a card in Japan and then the challenge of navigating through the menu…you'll encounter the challenge of finding an actual card you can actually use! Many foreigners come to Japan, open bank accounts and are given cards that are essentially ATM only. If you then neglect to upgrade your account or change it and only have your ATM card, if ever you start using a vehicle, want to buy fuel, don't have cash and think you can use your card…you might be in for a bad day and a few surprises!
Why does it forget ?
“I want my MTV”. I’ll buy my gas there, when they put a YouTube icon on the screen! Then I can pump gas and catch up on theJapanChannel too! Cheers Jerry
At least there you don't have to worry about credit card skimmers waiting to scam their next victim.
Guessing these aren’t common yet?? Was hoping more things like this were introduced when the olympics came around last year.
Hoping one day to drive in Japan and the thought of getting fuel always worried me
That's nearly half the price of UK petrol 😮
So friendly compared to a little LCD that shows the bare minium
The English isn't perfect but A for affort at least.
How old is this video? The petrol is cheap in Japan!
even the pumps are weird… lol
That would have been on average 6865 Yen in the UK
Wow 150 yen. That is so cheap. I'm moving to Japan.
Is it common to have to pay at pump or is there the option of paying in the shop after filling? Here I would generally just lift the nozzle, pump the petrol and pay afterwards. It seems a bit easier if, hypothetically, you couldn’t read those menus.
It puts the petrol in the vehicle, or it gets bombarded with audio visual nonsense again.
I loved my visit to japan and want to go again, but the sheer volume of sensory input in places was a bit much. The quiet bits were really nice though.
So, did it remember to close the fuel cap and receive the receipt… but more importantly did it touch a sheet?
