The superjumbo #a380 has many fans worldwide, but none is as vocal and powerful as Tim Clark, the president of #emirates the aircraft’s largest operator. The Dubai-based airline has purchased nearly half of all A380s ever produced and currently has 118 in its fleet, with around 80 presently flying. #airbus

    Rubbish.

    The A380 wing factory in Wales has been stripped out and now builds A320/319 wings..

    So they will have no wings.

    The only ones buying these are rich Arab oil countries, who have endless money, and no accountability for being profitable. It is not a feasible aircraft for profitability.

    My suggestion for Emirates:

    Replace 20 older A380s with secondhand A380s from Etihad and Qatar and extend their service life beyond 2035.
    Replace the 777-200LR/300ER with 30 787-9s and 115 777-9s including a small subfleet of 15 777-9ERs with higher MTOW that will allow Emirates to operate DXB-LAX and DXB-AKL without any weight/payload restrictions.
    Top off the A350 order with an order of 30 A350-1000s for lesser-dense routes.

    Engines are nearly large enough that they can build an airplane as large as an A380, but with 2 engines. The 777-9 falls well short of an A380 capacity wise, so is not an ideal replacement.
