Magic Keys actually came back for renewals, but the options are less than “favorable.”

Each week, we cover the top stories in Disney Parks news and discuss the topics that are top of mind for the Disney community.

Welcome to ParksCenter on WDWNT.TV! We’re back with more news and discussing the latest happenings in Disney Parks. Also, thanks for joining us live at our new time, 9pm ET!

After an “unfavorable” comment about the attendance mix in Disneyland, we wondered if the Magic Key program would return. Then early last week, it was announced that renewals would return, but with some changes. Our panel gives you all the info and discusses the possible future of the AP program.

Then in parks news, we have lots of project updates as D23 Expo approaches including more on TRON and Moana. Also, Walt and Roy will be added to the Enchantment show – will that make you like it more?

We have more Halloween updates as the parks transform for the holiday and parties have begun. It’s also the beginning of World Princess Week, and we look at all the offerings in the parks.

Finally, our panel will discuss the pros and cons of booking a Disney dining package or dessert party. What’s it cost, what do you get, and is it worth it? Also, we will point out some of our favorites.

  1. I'm with you, Rob, "Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM" was the best! Best treats/drinks, meet& greet w/Santa Goofy and you get a metal commemorative ornament!! Only negative was how close the tables were to each other, but hey, it was on front of the Chinese theatre. Here's hoping it comes back…

  2. I also recommend the fireworks dinner package at Rose and Crown. The menu is prefix with some drinks included. Only negative is when wind changes and ash falls into your food!!

  3. With over 6 and a 1/2 decades of an intimate relationship with Disneyland. It has been one heck of a ride from decade to decade with the revolving door of executives in Burbank. Some for the better, some at moments were good and others were not so good. It is a very slow burn here in California with the dining packages the evolution and different incarnations of them have been trying and very challenging at times. Within our small park it is absolutely a must to take advantage and plan to utilize the dining packages for any of the special nighttime shows. The Blue Bayou is a good example of how it was good and now it's not so good. You still need to lineup for either dining venue. They no longer provide you a wonderful keepsake, The handheld cushion for Fantasmic. That concrete that guests need to be seated upon is rather hard. Especially for older folks. And they now strictly enforce that everyone needs to remain seated during the production of the show. No standing like it once was. There is a lovely section with padded cushion folding chairs for Cub 33 members and VIP guests. Hungry bear restaurant is not a great eyesight line to the show. It is only a (west) side view especially where the boats and barges come around the bend going to the back side of Rivers of America. The show needs to be truly appreciated at its best with a frontal view. And do not forget to factor in we do get winds here in California our Santa Ana's. This does impact at times the visuals of the mapping on the water sprays. We are all already paying a great deal to go into the parks so at this point spend a little more and get the maximum enjoyment of your visit . I'm scrambling feelings that this is still the best value that Disney offers especially at Disneyland , they truly could raise the prices much higher. As Walt would say simply plus it up and have a Magical Day.

  4. That’s why I rely on Disney Themed/theme park YouTubers to get my Disney fix every day. It’s too expensive to get an annual pass or a day ticket.

  5. Great show. Appreciate the intelligent discussion. Look forward to it every week. When were at SS my wife was told the Spa is never coming back.

  6. AP prices and nickel and diming guests….. Chapek is trying to save his job by forcing profit up at the expense of loyal guests…. driving stock price above $100 per share… historically hovers around $120 minimum, so expect him to try to do whatever he can to keep stock price above that level….

  7. Finally glad I was able to catch up on all park news. Great panel Rob. Nice update on a lot that is going on. I may not be able to watch this live all the time, but I don't miss a show.
